  • A profound THANK YOU to our great engineer Joe Sands who rearranged his schedule to drive up to Ely, then drove back to Vegas and back to get a power supply to get us back on the air! While having lunch at the best burger place in Ely, he affirmed what I said in a recent Facebook commentary. Every day, the lack of people wanting to get into trades is shocking. Finding good plumbers, mechanics, electricians is getting to be a massive challenge. Getting people to do the work is nearly impossible. He told the head of engineering for a major broadcasting chain that he can’t hire anyone under the age of 50. Because they’re all going into college path careers, not into electronics. Parents, tell your kids that the most lucrative – and most economical – path to a career does NOT involve a college degree, but into a trade.
