Oilfield Talk

By: Leon “Trae” Faught III
  • Summary

  • Oilfield Talk Podcast will interview Oilfield Hands from all over the industry & world… who have stories on top of stories to tell about their time in the Oil Patch. Give anyone in the Oil & Gas industry from Drilling to Production… Transportation to Service Industry! Everyone has a story to tell about “that one time” or “you just wouldn’t believe this”… people telling their versions of stories (creative license allowed) or the way they remember it… fact or fiction I guarantee everyone will enjoy listening to “Oilfield Talk”! Hopefully one interviewer will call his buddy down the street who will call another friend… only to have a large group of friends feeding off each other… telling lies… where the next story is crazier than the last… just trying to out do each other! Amazing stories you just won’t believe… but never the less are probably (mostly) true! Hope you will join us for an adventure into the Oil Patch where most people will never get the real story or “inside scoop”… unless you are part of the family. Now… we are able to share those stories… re-live our days in the Oil Industry and share not only the history… but traditions and the crazy people we call family and places we call home… for half our lives. Good hearted, family friendly stories… no negativity, trama or drama… stories everyone will be proud for their family to listen to… and hopefully, our family will better understand why we love the Oil Patch!

    William Authur (Billy) Sheffield

Mr. Billy is thought to have the largest collection of “Moonshine Hill” and Humble, TX” memorabilia / collectables from Moonshine Hill and Humble Oil.

His remarkable memory brings to life the photographs and items that he shares his home with… because they are his Family History., He was born on Moonshine Hill in his parents home… where he continues to live today. Hope you enjoy the journey.

“A lonely historical marker sits on the side of FM 1960 outside of Humble, Texas. You would probably drive right past it. But, if you’re curious and stop to read the sign, you might also meet one of the last residents of Moonshine Hill, whose house is just behind that marker. Billy Sheffield is 93 years old and his family has been in the area for over 100 years.”

I met Mr. Billy at the www.GoodOilDays.com

The Good Oil Days Festival was created to celebrate Humble’s rich history in the oil industry, as well as to bring business into the ‘hub’ of the city. It’s one of the biggest events of the Northeast area of Houston where family and small businesses are joined together.

Whether this is your first time or you’re returning for another year, the Good Oil Days Festival has something for everyone. From food trucks and live entertainment to an exciting area just for kids, we promise you’ll get to experience a full day of fun!

  • Ep030 – Part 2 – Morris Fleming - ALPHA Oil Tools – Legend
    Jun 26 2024

The stories continue… another hour with Mr. Morris Fleming

    https://alphaoiltools.com/ https://www.linkedin.com/company/alphaoiltools/

Alpha Oil Tools posted a “Happy Birthday” message and short video on their LinkedIn page that read:

“Happy 85th Birthday to a REAL legacy in our industry, Mr. Morris Fleming. Morris started working for Halliburton in 1960, was on his first frac job in 1966, and has made countless contributions to our industry in drilling, well completions, well service, downhole tools, plug and abandonment, and many, many others. His wisdom is only surpassed by his kindness and his friendship. He is always quick to share his knowledge to benefit others and we should know because Alpha Oil Tools is one of the biggest beneficiaries of them all!!! Thank you, Morris, and Happy Birthday!

After reading some of the comments, I knew that Mr. Fleming is exactly who Oilfield Talk wants to interview and hopefully listeners agree.

His amazing career started in the 1960’s and continues today.

He attended the 5th Course Halliburton ever put on for Drill Stem Testing & Special Tools on September 27th, 1969.

Mr. Carl Gay reached out and helped with the introductions… and I couldn’t get to Dallas fast enough… hope you enjoy our visit with Mr. Morris Fleming.
