Today we envited Kamdens dad, Kamen, onto the show to gather some deeper insight into mens mental health. If you feel like you need someone to talk to you can reach him at Kamen@motherhoodpodcast.cloud

We asked him to expand on his answers, giving him a chance to expand, here is what he wrote:

First off, thank y'all for bringing me on the show—it really means a lot. Being here, sharing this space with all of you, and getting a chance to dive into these important conversations honestly shows how far we’ve come. It’s a big step for us as a team, a family, and as people who genuinely want to make a difference.
I believe we’re all working toward the same thing: to grow, learn, and create an environment for our kids that’s better than what we might’ve had or the challenges we faced. Just because we’ve gone through our own struggles doesn’t mean our children should have to carry those same burdens. They deserve a fresh start, one where they’re free to grow without the weight of our battles.
So I’m grateful to be part of a platform that promotes that kind of change. And I appreciate every single one of you for being open, honest, and committed to fostering a positive, nurturing environment—not just for ourselves but for our kids. It feels good to know we're building something meaningful here.

When you're in a dark place, especially one that feels isolating, it's easy to spiral into feeling helpless and alone. A lot of guys think they have to bear everything on their own, but that "every man for himself" mindset can actually push you deeper into that hole. In reality, the strongest men in the world aren't out there doing it solo. They have people they lean on—advisors, mentors, a strong support team. Even the most powerful CEOs are where they are because they have a circle of people supporting them, guiding them, and picking up some of the weight. Thinking you have to do it all yourself doesn’t make you stronger; it just makes things harder.
It’s normal to feel hesitant to reach out, especially with the lingering stigma around men asking for help. But honestly, reaching out when you need it isn’t a sign of weakness—it’s one of the smartest and most resilient things you can do. Think about it: refusing to accept help when you clearly need it is like a toddler flailing in a kiddie pool when all they need to do is stand up. By pushing through, even when it's hard, you're standing up and refusing to let your challenges drown you.

If you’re struggling and don’t have someone close to you that you trust, you’re not out of options. There are anonymous forums, community groups, and even people who are willing to listen, like myself, Eddie, or Brittany. Also never forget that God is the True Man, always on standby.
