On January 12, 2007, a man just outside a subway station in Washington D.C. started to play the violin. Over the course of 45 minutes, he played six pieces, including pieces by Bach and Schubert. Because it was rush hour, exactly 1,097 people poured through the station, most of them on their way to work. After playing for almost an hour, he had received just under $33 in tips and no applause.

This true story was told on Crossway.com, that on December 7th, 1988, an earthquake devastated the northwestern section of Armenia, killing an estimated 25,000 people.
