  • Brazil is expected to produce 94.6mn metric tonnes (t) of corn in the 2024-25 second crop and export 34mn t, or around 36pc of the production. Northern Arc ports are strategic because of their proximity to important agricultural hubs and are important export route to markets in Europe and Africa. Itaqui and Barcarena ports account for more than half of Northern Arc's corn shipments.
