    This is episode 35 of the Love Sweetie Podcast! This episode features five pieces of correspondence from four individuals from December 1944. Sweetie sends a Christmas card and a letter to Jeanne, Lew (Sweetie's husband) sends information to Jeanne, Dr. Chester Demaree (Sweetie's father) writes to his son, Frank, who is at the front during World War II about Christmas 1944 in Iowa and how he has plans to purchase a farm, and Samuel Graham (Lew's father) sends a card to Jeanne, providing an update on his health at the end of the year. Additionally, we see a wartime Christmas card sent to family from Joe Graham (Lew's brother). Altogether, it is a unique picture of Christmas 1944 for one family during World War II.

    This is episode 34 of the Love Sweetie Podcast! This episode features four letters from November and December 1944. Two of the four letters were written by Sweetie from Hutchinson, Kansas, and the other two letters were from Sweetie's parents, writing to her sister, Jeanne, in Lacona, Iowa. In this episode, we find out what happened to disrupt Sweetie's plans for Thanksgiving, whether or not Jeanne finally visits her sister in Hutchinson, and we hear about the plans that are being made for the family for Christmas 1944. We also find out how a famous Christmas story originated, and see some images of Hutchinson, Kansas from postcards from the beginning of the 20th century.

Two of the three letters were written by Sweetie from Hutchinson, Kansas, and the other letter was written by Sweetie's husband, Lew. In this episode, Lew writes to Sweetie's father, Chester Demaree, M.D., regarding some tools that Chester has sent him from Lacona, Iowa, and Sweetie and Lew hope that her sister, Jeanne, will visit them in Hutchinson, Kansas before Thanksgiving 1944. Sweetie also starts to get more concerned that Lew will be sent overseas, but is not sure when that might occur.
