Latte and Laundry: A home for Catholic women, moms, and hearts

By: Suzanne Bilodeau
  • Summary

  • Catholic mom, Catholic women, and ALL friends seeking God- WELCOME! This is a podcast designed to provide my fellow sisters in Christ with encouragement and support for the beautiful and difficult journey of living out our vocations. Truth is that motherhood, marriage, and living out our feminine genius are incredibly hard endeavors. Yet, through the perseverance of pursuing all that is good, true, and beautiful we are tenderly being transformed into vessels of God's love, one tiny dish, meeting, or dirty diaper at a time.

So, join me, Suzanne - homeschooling momma of 6, every week as we journey together with a Mary & Martha mission towards "stilling our souls WHILE moving our world." Together, let's sit at the feet of Christ like Mary, while moving with the gusto and strength of Martha! Join me and my friends as we laugh, cry, dive deep, and explore with one another as navigate wifehood, motherhood, and sisterhood with our eyes on Christ.

"For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee." - Isaiah 54:10.

Okay my lovely friends, let's talk about motherhood. Truth is motherhood is magnificently beautiful, wonderfully life-giving, and remarkably heroic. But the truth ALSO is that it is back-breakingly HARD. But in a world that tells us that hard equals bad, we can often find our hearts filled with despair when we experience the hardness of our vocations. But what if hard doesn't equal bad, but rather sanctifyingly good? What if the shame we experience when the hard swallows us is just a nasty tool of the enemy? What if the Lord desires that we meet him in these hard places and let Him pour His mercy, compassion, and love on our weary hearts?

"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the day approaching." Hebrews 10:24-25.

  • 191. Stretch Out Your Hand
    Oct 29 2024

"Jesus entered the synagogue. There was a man there who had a withered hand. They watched Jesus closely to see if he would cure him on the sabbath so that they might accuse him. He said to the man with the withered hand, “Come up here before us.” Then he said to the Pharisees, “Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath rather than to do evil, to save life rather than to destroy it?” But they remained silent. Looking around at them with anger and grieved at their hardness of heart, Jesus said to the man, “STRETCH OUT YOUR HAND.” He stretched it out and his hand was restored.

In order to be healed, Jesus asked the man to OPEN his hand. Perhaps, the Lord is waiting for us to stop clenching our tight hands, and instead to open them up to the healing grace God has in store for us.
