  • Summary

  • We could tell you about our show, but in the words of LeVar Burton, "don't take our word for it!" Here is an actual listener's description of the show: "Think Cher Horowitz meets Dolly Parton... create a love child. Then THAT person meets Bill Kurtis.... and two random girls are the product of that.... that's Tyrella and Tori (sisters and hosts). Smart, weird, pretty, blonde, hilarious, southern, and just really okay with being themselves.... even when it is weird. It made me realize [they] became their role models without even meaning to." • 348: Moody Massacre (Scott Moody)
    Nov 20 2024
In the early morning hours of Sunday, May 29th, 2005, shots rang out from the Shaker Farm in Bellefontaine, Ohio. Nikki Vagades received a call from her 15-year-old step sister, begging for help. When Nikki arrived at the farmhouse, she immediately called 911. Detectives arrived to find six people on the property, all dead from gunshot wounds. Stacy Moody, the youngest child that lived in the house, was barely alive. Just a few hours later, the Logan County Sheriff had closed the case, ruling it a murder-suicide. Despite his certainty, MANY people continue to question whether this massacre was a planned cover-up, possibly by law enforcement. • 346: Carnegie Deli Murders
    Nov 6 2024
In May of 2001, Jennifer Stahl and four friends were in her apartment in New York City when another man was buzzed in. They didn’t know that he had another man with him, and the two were planning on robbing everyone there along with money that Jennifer was supposed to have. Each man would later claim that the other was responsible, but at the end, all 5 of the others had been shot and left for dead. Investigators worked with the little evidence they had, and were able to identify their two suspects. While one would turn himself in, the other would be arrested across the country with the help of America’s Most Wanted. Want access to our first 45 episodes? Grab em here! An absolute gem!!!!

I adore this podcast and these girls! They are able to walk that fine line of respectfully telling the stories of crime victims while also being entertaining. The flow is more conversational which I enjoy; the vibe is that of hanging out with your friends discussing true crime. They are real, relatable, and funny as hell. 10/10 for sure!!

Hands down my favorite!

Ok so I admit, I have a bit of Podcast A.D.D. I binge for a bit and then almost never go back to it again. Killer Queens is one of the few exceptions to that. I have been listening for over a year now and I’m pretty sure I have listened to every episode including Patreon episodes at least twice.

Anywho, Tori and Tyrella achieve exactly what they set out to do, discuss true crime in a way that feels like a casual conversation with a few friends. I personally am not a fan of shows that are overly scripted, down to the last little gasp of horror.

Despite the witty banter and southern sass these ladies bring, the content is informative and the victims are ALWAYS discussed in a respectful manner.

While this podcast is probably not for everyone, if you like true crime, anything from the 90’s, or listening to people try (and fail) pronouncing names, give this a try, you won’t be disappointed! 💕

LYLAS!

not my cup of tea

The hostess are definitely young and playful, which is not a bad thing just not my cup of tea. It took some time to get to the point of the story and they seemed to get off track a lot.

Meh…

I was recommended this podcast in a fan group for Morbid. One thing I love about Morbid and another female duo true crime podcast, Crime Junkie is that they have a healthy skepticism of police investigations. I couldn’t get through one episode of this podcast without feeling like to these girls, the police can do no wrong. It’s nothing personal, I’m sure they’ve gotten better, but acting as if police have the hardest job in solving these crimes is irritating. They’re paid 6X more than most teachers and deal with half the bullshit. Sometimes they screw up. I think skepticism of police goes hand in hand with being a true crime junkie. They don’t always do their best work. Maybe I’ll give a listen to more recent episodes to update this review in the future.
