• Lessons from the Night Journey - A Warning Against Riba
    Jan 31 2025

In this powerful episode of the Isnad Academy Podcast, host M. Irshaad Sedick sits down with M. Muhammad Carr to explore a profound lesson from the Night Journey (Isrā’ and Mi‘rāj)—the dire warning against riba (usury/interest).

🔹 How does riba impact our spirituality, economy, and society?

🔹 Why is riba considered worse than drinking alcohol in the Quran?

🔹 What practical steps can we take to transition to Sharia-compliant alternatives?

Through insightful discussion, our speakers unpack the Quranic prohibition of interest and its consequences, drawing lessons that remain relevant today.

🕌 Islam is holistic—it does not separate spirituality from finance. If we seek to strengthen our connection with Allah (Most High), we must also ensure that our financial transactions align with His divine guidance.
