The update will include a new character named “Buddy” who will provide training at the start of the adventure and enhanced ride vehicles with video monitors. Blasters will be handheld instead of mounted on vehicles, similar to Disneyland’s version of the ride. The blasters will also feature always on tracking beams with a different color for each blaster in the car to make it easier to aim. Targets will also be interactive by lighting up when hit. The ride is scheduled to reopen sometime in 2026. Source: Disney Parks Blog My DVC Points is a fantastic community of DVC members.
