  • COSMIC EVOLUTION MANIFESTING AS HUMANITY Heredity in the Modern Stage of Humanity - Story of the Noosphere
    Feb 22 2025

This episode is from our YouTube series Story of the Noosphere.

The planetary mind is on the verge of creating new human forms. Hereditary traditions that have, over many millennia, given birth to hundreds of diverse human forms, are now entering the process of creative dialogue with one another.

It is in the synergies generated by deepening relations among all human communities that new and vibrant contexts are put into place. Over time the creative relationships in these new contexts will bring forth a million new human forms.

You may already be one of them.

As a word, "noosphere" is a loose synonym for three different meanings: the history and destiny of Homo sapiens; an emerging planetary nervous system, an emerging superorganism.

Throughout this series, we explore the conditions that gave rise to the noosphere:
    1. Heredity
The transfer of genetic and cultural information from parents to offspring, generation to generation.

    2. Tools
Instruments and technological devices that aids in accomplishing tasks.

    3. Self-Consciousness
Conscious of one's own acts or states as belonging to or originating in oneself : aware of oneself as an individual.

    4. Communication
A process by which information is exchanged between individuals through
a common system of symbols, signs, or behavior.

    5. Population
A body of persons or individuals having a quality or characteristic in common, the total of particles at a particular energy level.

    6. Trade
To exchange (something) for something else, typically as a commercial transaction.

    7. Cerebralization
The developing capacity of a species to form an idea, mental image or understanding something.

    8. Convergence
To come together and unite in a common interest or focus.

Across five different stages of humanity:
    • Paleolithic (300,000 - 11,000 years ago)
    • Neolithic (11,000 years ago - 3,000 BCE)
    • Classical (3,000 BCE - 1400 CE)
    • Modern (1,400 CE - present)
    • Future

  • THE NOOSPHERIC NOURISHMENT OF MODERN TRADE Trade in the Modern Stage of Humanity - Story of the Noosphere
    Feb 21 2025

This episode is from our YouTube series Story of the Noosphere.

With so many real problems besetting our Earth community, any talk of an
emerging planetary mind can seem naive. Already in the first half of the 21st century, pessimism has captured a great many.

To avoid the temptation of depression and despair, we need to take in the larger arc of history. In the modern era, trading networks exploded and changed the fabric of human life.

A keen appreciation of what trade has bequeathed to us will strengthen our faith in progress.

  • Time-Developmental Consciousness - Story of the Noosphere
    Feb 19 2025

This episode is from our YouTube series Story of the Noosphere.

The greatest discovery in all of modern science came in the 20th Century. We now know we live not in a fixed cosmos, but in a cosmogenesis -- a universe in the midst of its development.

This discovery leads to a profound transformation of human
consciousness. We move from our former conviction that the universe is static and unchanging to the amazing realization that we -- as humanity, and as universe -- are developing into something new.

This emerging form of consciousness, called time-developmental consciousness, is regarded by some scholars as the most significant transformation of consciousness in 2 million years of human existence.

  • A Hundred Thousand Year Experiment - Story of the Noosphere
    Feb 18 2025

This episode is from our YouTube series Story of the Noosphere.

A hundred thousand year experiment, carried out by the Earth Community, makes clear that major stages of humanity's development were set from our origin.

The experiment took place when Homo sapiens began to flow north out of Africa. Some veered to the west and populated Europe. Others turned right and crossed over into the Americas.

The key point is that for a hundred thousand years, the humans heading for Europe had utterly no contact with the humans trekking toward the Americas. And yet when they met, a hundred thousand years later, in the sixteenth century, they found that they had evolved through profoundly similar stages.

This suggests that humanity’s evolution has a cosmic significance, one we are only now beginning to understand.

  • The Magnificent Power of Paper - Story of the Noosphere
    Feb 17 2025

This episode is from our YouTube series Story of the Noosphere.

The universe created stars. galaxies, and life, and that same creative energy is at work in humans. In this film we investigate how early modern humans discovered a way to enhance the creativity flowing through them.

Through the invention of readily accessible paper, modern humans were able to capture novel creative potencies, fixing new ideas to paper before they vanished. Henceforth, humans could complexify their thinking because they could build former thoughts into current thoughts.

This gave birth to an upwelling of art and music, to new designs for government and architecture, to new visions of what it meant to be a human.

  • Pythagorean Dreams - Story of the Noosphere
    Feb 16 2025

This episode is from our YouTube series Story of the Noosphere.

The special nature of human consciousness is bringing forth a planet that is ever more mind-like. We call this the process of cerebralization.

Is this work coming from the universe?

Or are we on our own here?

Are we just a meaningless speck in the midst of a trillion galaxies?

Or are we here to construct a planetary mind?

Similar questions have haunted humans from the beginning. In this video, we discuss one of the most fascinating speculations concerning this question that comes from the world of science. Fair warning, this idea will ask you to stretch your mind. But it provides a radical new understanding of our existence as humans, one we think you'll enjoy considering.
