  • Ep. 50 - Livin' on a Prayer by Bon Jovi: Woah We're Halfway There, We Just Don't know to Where
    Mar 2 2023

OUR 50TH EPISODE! Thank you so much listener for learning and laughing with us for the past 50 eps. We are having a blast! Known as the national anthem of New Jersey, the band's staple song, and a karaoke favorite, Livin' on a Prayer is very popular -even currently- song! After some (let's be honest here, a LOT) of jibber jabbering about headphones and robotic noises and the occassional "dragon" drop, we dive right into breaking down the lyrics. Tommy and Gina, man do they have some problems going on, have got love and hope. We discover the words and the story aren't so much what make us LOVE this song, it's more the repitition and hook! See if you listener can hear us say the words -or the title itself- of this song and not sing "WOOOOOOOOAH OHHHHH LIVIN' ON A PRAYER!" Because, it is nearly impossible for Tressa and Joey has to throw in the voice box part too.  And Happy Birthday Jon Bon Jovi!

  • Ep. 49 - Let It Be by The Beatles : No One Talks This Way, But Man We Sure Talk A LOT
    Feb 15 2023

We admit -we have yet to perfect the art of getting right into the designed content of the episodes- and our advice to you listener is to just "let it be" (smirky face). While we are here to breakdown for you the lyrics of these songs, we are also here to involve you in our daily lives and laugh invite you to laugh with us in our shenanigans. THEN we get to the "lyrics portion of the podcast listener!" And what we reveal to you about this song, the origin of it, and how ridiculously quick it was written, is that it is the work of a genius. Paul McCartney, front man of a little band you may have heard of, writes this gem in a way in which no one ever talks but it apparently can mega sell a song! The concept of "let it be" is exactly as you imagine it, yet the conditions in which McCartney presents may not be as exact. Give it a listen and then go have a conversation with your friends and see if anyone amongst you converses in such a way.

  • Ep. 47 - Your Song by Elton John: Yes, This is Literally Your Song Listener
    Dec 21 2022

After a brief hiatus, WE ARE BACK! Where have we been you ask? We catch you right up, in full entertainment mode of course. Our return hits you with a TIMELESS number. 1970. Neither of us even born, and most likely you were not either listener, and this classic song graces our ears (and hearts) at its age of 52. This song -"Your Song"-was written from the naive POV of a 17 year old boy and here we are in awe of them. These are seriously some of the best lyrics we have broken down to date and the song itself has yet to become old or annoying to us! He was so certain of its release to the world that he literally wrote "it's for people like you that keep it turned on" and while we are certain it was written about one individual someone...we are equally certain it was written FOR every one. "Your Song" is one we seek out, we love, and we both give a worthy 10! We are so happy to be back...hoped ya missed us :)

  • Ep. 47 - Losing My Religion by R.E.M.: Tales From the Corner
    Nov 19 2022

Weird Al Yankovic - "Grammar Crimes", look it up listener (lol it's "Word Crimes").  Discussion of the advancement, or lack thereof, of toilet paper, but we ran out of time on that. Michael Stipe? We like him.  The song itself ends up a bit of a split decision. Tressa loves it, Joey has no clue, as has been much of his life.  Join us listener. Taylor Swift comes up in conversation..... again....  Maybe we're gonna start making YouTube playlists of the greatest songs of different things.  Just for clarity, Joey wrote this, that's why it blows.

  • Ep. 46 - Baby Got Back by Sir Mix a Lot: He Said All of This in 1992 Listener
    Nov 9 2022

Listener, Anthony Ray (we know, boring name) aka Sir Mix-A-Lot, likes big butts. Apparently all the people do. This one hit number starts with a beat that instantaneously envokes in us to "kick them nasty thoughts" and sing along with his opening line of "I LIKE BIG BUTTS AND I CANNOT LIE." 30 years later, we had zero realization that he was saying all he is saying. He had a voice over woman give an intro that anyone between the ages of 45-55 knows pretty much every word (sadly maybe?! lol) We're here to give you all the lyrics and of course...laughter over them. Our random topics -new segment listener- give you all things to ponder and possibly a journey into the woods if you are up to a challenge to find something Joey hasn't seen in years. Also learn with us all the terms, slang and actual, for the lower posterior backside region of the human body...more particularly the female one excluding them "knock-kneed bimbos walkin' like hoes." Sir's words, not ours.

  • Ep. 45 - Just the Way You Are by Billy Joel: "She Was Great, Until She Wasn't"
    Nov 2 2022

45 years ago, ole Billy was in his feels and wrote this majestic song for a woman he believed needed not to change. He wanted her to know he loved her "as is" and no attempts were necessary to gain his affection. Seems like this would have spawned a forever happiness between the two doesn't it?  Well...WRONG! Find out how said woman reacted to the act of unwavering love and how one single act changed it all. We discuss in lengthy detail Joel's mindset at the time, recalled memories of the relationship, and of course we add our own thoughts to the situation. Listen to find out if we made it to Peach Park and if you do nothing else...LISTEN TO THIS SONG because it got 10s across the board in our pre and post ratings. It. Is. Perfect...just the way it is :)

  • Ep. 44 - Wonderwall by Oasis: A Twisted Tale of Love & Hate
    Oct 26 2022

Did you, dear listener, ever have your Glamour Shot made? Us neither but this ep inspires Joey to seek how to make it happen, for we may be getting a billboard to support our show! "Wonderwall" by Oasis produces a ton of story time and exposes a secret of Joey's that Tressa did not know about his house. The Gallaghers hate each other and this song --- one of them uses the F bomb many many times when talking about it. Is it about a person who will save you, a woman lover turned ex, or a peep hole? You decide, listener. Trivia has Tressa screaming so just beware of your sound level!

  • Ep. 43 - Every Morning by Sugar Ray: "For Mature Audiences Only - Listener Discretion is Advised"
    Oct 19 2022

IF you know this song, you may be like us in the thinking it is about an angelic woman being admired by her lover. However, the all knowing internet has revealed to us it may be about a whoooole 'nother thing.  "Every Morning" he wakes up to a halo hanging from his girlfriend's 4 post bed and who knew that "halo" could very well reference something not very angelic?! We get very confused by this and what we originally knew is now tainted by what we end up discussing and furthermore, we hate this song #biglaugh! We intro discuss a previous topic and we outro discuss what Joey wants to find out more about that will cause Tressa to not open any correspondence from him. Also, we -and by we we mean Tressa - would like to know your every morning routine.
