    About Harvey's guest:


    Today’s guest, Tom Amandes, is a renowned actor who is perhaps best remembered for his portrayal of “Elliot Ness” in the 1990’s hit TV show “The Untouchables”, and as “Dr. Harold Abbott” in “Everwood”. But over the past 4 decades he’s brought us dozens of other memorable roles.


    On the big screen, he played Geena Davis' boyfriend in “The Long Kiss Goodnight”, and he was Abraham Lincoln in the 2013 movie, “Saving Lincoln”. Some of his other movies include “Second Chances”, “Brokedown Palace”, “Dirty Deeds”, “Bonneville”, “Lucky”, “The Bachelors”, “A Million Little Pieces”, and the terrific short film “Imagine”, for which he was named Best Supporting Actor at the Filmed in Utah Awards, and he was nominated for the Award of Excellence at the Winter Film Awards.


    On television, he’s had recurring roles in numerous shows including “The Pursuit of Happiness”, “The Guardian”, “Parenthood”, “Chicago Fire”, “Spin City”, “Scandal”, “Promised Land”, and “Perry Mason”. He’s also starred in some great TV movies and miniseries like “Because Mommy Works”, “From the Earth to the Moon”, “Down Will Come Baby”, “If You Believe”, “When Good Ghouls Go Bad”, and “A Neighbour’s Deception”. And he’s guest starred in dozens of classic TV shows including “Murphy Brown”, “Roseanne”, “The Larry Sanders Show”, “ER”, “Family Law”, “NYPD Blue”, “Curb Your Enthusiasm”, “Grey’s Anatomy”, and many more.


    Our guest has also starred in many theatrical productions including "Translations", "The Playboy of the Western World" "What the Butler Saw", "Candida" "The Courtship of Carl Sandburg", “At Home at the Zoo”, and many more. Over the years, our guest has received numerous accolades, including the 2011 Award for Excellence in the Arts, bestowed upon him by his alma mater, DePaul University in Chicago.

    Today’s special guest, Marsha Mason, special guest is a legendary and beloved actress and director whose iconic career and body of work over the past 6 decades has brought us dozens of unforgettable performances.


    On Broadway, she appeared in 8 shows including “Cactus Flower”, “The Good Doctor”, “The Night of the Iguana”, “Steel Magnolias”, and “The Roommate”. Her list of theatre credits is spectacular, and she’s starred in everything from Shakespeare and Ibsen to Arthur Miller, Lillian Hellman and of course, Neil Simon - and everyone in between. Her performance off-Broadway in "Little Gem" earned her an Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Play, and her starring role in the 1999 revival of “The Prisoner of Second Avenue” in London, earned her a Grammy Award nomination for Best Comedy Album.


    But there’s no question that she became a global superstar for her work in the movies. She’s received FOUR Academy Award nominations for Best Actress, for her performances in “Cinderella Liberty”, “The Goodbye Girl”, “Chapter Two” and “Only When I Laugh”. She’s won 2 Golden Globe Awards for Best Actress for her work in “Cinderella Liberty” and “The Goodbye Girl”, and she received 2 more Golden Globe Award nominations for her work in “Chapter Two” and “Promises in the Dark”. She’s also appeared in many other great movies including “Audrey Rose”, “Max Dugan Returns”, “Heartbreak Ridge”, “Stella”, “I Love Trouble”, “Nick of Time” and “Bride and Prejudice.


    On television, she starred in her own sitcom called “Sibs”, and she received an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for her performance as “Sherry” on “Frasier”. You’ve also seen her in many other shows including “Lipstick Jungle”, “The Good Wife”, “Madam Secretary” and “Grace and Frankie”, and in TV movies and miniseries like “The Good Doctor”, “Lois Gibbs and the Love Canal”, “Trapped in Silence”, “Dinner at Eight”, “The Long Shot”, and one of my all-time favourites, “Life With Judy Garland: Me and My Shadows”.


    In the year 2000, our guest released a compelling and highly revealing, profoundly intimate memoir entitled, “Journey: A Personal Odyssey”, which chronicled her professional, personal and spiritual path which ultimately took her from the heights of Hollywood fame to a new life focussing on physical and emotional wellness in New Mexico. In addition to the myriad of accolades and awards she has received over the years, including a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Gulf Coast Film Festival, our guest was inducted into the St. Louis Walk of Fame. She is constantly in demand not only as an actress, but as a highly respected theatre director and educator.

    Today’s guest, John James, is a beloved actor who is perhaps best remembered for his portrayal of “Jeff Colby”, the “loving but unloved” husband of “Fallon” on the mega-hit TV series “Dynasty”, earning a Golden Globe Award nomination.


    He also played “Jeff Colby” in the spin-off series, “The Colbys”, earning 2 Soap Opera Digest nominations. And he returned as “Jeff Colby” one last time in the 1991 miniseries, “Dynasty: The Reunion”.


    But in addition to that iconic role, our guest has had a long and diverse career. His movie credits include “Icebreaker”, “Peril”, “Illegal Aliens”, “The Lost Day”, “Evil at the Door”, “My Son Hunter”, “Find Her” and “Axcellerator”, for which he and his fellow cast members won the Rising Tide Award at the Boston Science Fiction Film Festival.


    And on TV, he portrayed “Tom Bergman” in “Search for Tomorrow”, and he was “Jeff Martin” in “All my Children”, and on “As the World Turns”, he was “Dr. Rick Decker”. He’s also appeared in many other shows like “Fantasy Island”, “The Love Boat”, “Touched by an Angel”, “A Friend in the Woods” and “Tales. And he has co-starred in many TV movies including “He’s Not Your Son”, “Haunted by Her Past”, “Perry Mason: The Case of the Ruthless Reporter”, “Partners in Love”, “Lightning: Fire From the Sky”, “Christmas Camp” and “Christmas in Tune”. And he’s also had an extensive career in the theatre.
