  • Hachiku x HERstory Podcast for Slice Radio
    Feb 8 2022

Hachiku frontwoman Anika Ostendorf who our attention is drawn to this week. Her indie pop is on another level.

Her German voice seems so little and fragile, yet her lyrics give you something to think about. We talk about how the Melbourne indie music scene, and remixes of her work by Georgia Maq and Alice Ivy. She was super generous with her time as it stormed rain in Melbourne.

Hachiku's debut LP I'll Probably Be Asleep came out in 2020. She hasn't had a chance to tour it until 2022. You have to feel for the arts industry during COVID.

  • George Alice X HERstory Podcast for Slice Radio
    Jan 18 2022

Georgie Alice is an 18-year-old chicka from Adelaide whos set for great things and already ticking boxes. Already achieving things dreams couldn't be made of, she's pumped and ready.

Networking, working with artists who've been sculpting the Aussie scene for years have been early industry perks that give her a taste for me.

She won Triple J Unearthed High in 2019 at just 16, with her song 'Circles'. While any attempt to rise to fame was put on hold, she used the time to mature in though during those formative years, organise global management, choose a record label as well as doing her HSC.

I also express my opinion about the new COVID mandates that restrict pubs playing live music and festivals going ahead.

  • Dixie Longate X HERstory Podcast for Slice Radio
    Dec 7 2021

Oh wow, it’s December. I can’t decide if I’m relieved another COVID year is nearly over, or I can’t believe where the year went. How about you?

Its okay if you wet your pants a little listening to Dixie Longate and I chat. The Alabama drag queen is a laugh a half.

Her first show was based on selling Tupperware (she's an actual agent), and has branched out from there. I really loved this chat (I was dosed up on Ru Paul's Drag Race during COVID). I hope you do too.
