    This week on the show Maine and Miranda recap the first week of the UFC BJJ Road to the title show.

    This week on the podcast, we're breaking down the full results from the inaugural season of UFC BJJ: Road to the Title with the first week of episodes completed.

    Our recap of Episodes 2-3 we covered the Opening Rounds
    Discussing the first first major seeding upset upset. with Isaac Doederlein vs. Keith Krikorian (155lbs): We analyzed this three-round match and judges' decision ultimately going to Isaac Doederlein in his first pro No-Gi match.
    In Davis Asare vs. Austin Oranday (170lbs): We recapped the welterweight match, where Davis Asare secure an ankle lock sub in first round.

    Our recap of Episodes 4-5 we discussed the Mid-Tournament Action and Roster Changes in the quarterfinal matchups.

    Recapping Carlos Henrique vs. Gianni Grippo (155lbs): we talked about Henrique's entry into the anaconda choke in the second round for the sub win over Grippo.

    In the recap of Elijah Carlton vs. Jason Nolf (170lbs): We discused the judging and why Elijah Carlton likely won the judges' decision after three rounds.

    In Kyvann Gonzalez vs. Cobey Fehr (155lbs): We discussed how Cobey Fehr stepped in after Josh Cisneros had an issues cutting weight. Then recapped Kyvann Gonzalez Abe lock win from reverse mount.

    In Episode 6 we covered the last of the quarterfinal matches from with Andy Varela vs. Nathan Haddad (170lbs): Which ended in classic Varela fashion with a duck under to rear naked choke in the second round.

    In Danilo Moreira vs. Mauricio Rios (155lbs): We talked about the decision where the judges awarded the win to Danilo Moreira.

    In the recap of Episodes 7-8 we recapped the Semifinals discussing the impact of an injury from Carlton forcing Jason Nolf to act as a last-minute replacement.

    In Andrew Tackett vs. Jason Nolf (170lbs): We explained why Jason Nolf came back in to replace an injured Elijah Carlton, and then talked about how Andrew Tackett was game enough to decide to wrestle Nolf, then quickly secured a rear naked choke off of a fireman carrf form Nolf to take the win and advance to the finals.

    In Danilo Moreira vs. Kyvann Gonzalez (155lbs): We talked about Danilo Moreira earning the win by decision.

    In Carlos Henrique vs. Isaac Doederlein (155lbs): We covered the semifinal matchup that saw Carlos Henrique win by a nasty armbar in the second round that dislocated Isaac elbow during the finish.

    In the semifinal rematch between Andy Varela vs. Davis Asare (170lbs): We talked about Andy Varela getting the submission with an anaconda choke the second of the event.

    In our preview and take on the championship finals we talked about the Lightweight (155lbs) Championship final between Danilo Moreira and Carlos Henrique, and the Welterweight (170lbs) Championship title match between Andrew Tackett and Andy Varela.

    This week on the show Maine and Miranda recap all the action from the week in professional grappling. We break down the entire WNO 28 main card from FloGrappling, and UFC BJJ Episode 1.

    We discuss the main event where Mica Galvão put on a dominant performance to capture the WNO Middleweight Championship from Jonnatas Gracie.

    In the news section of the show, we discuss the debut of the much-anticipated UFC BJJ: Road to the Title, which is now airing daily for free on the UFC's YouTube channel. We analyze the format, a TUF-style reality show featuring two teams of lightweight (155 lbs) and welterweight (170 lbs) grapplers competing in the CJI-style pit and ruleset. We talked about the coaches, Mikey Musumeci and Rerisson Gabriel, and discussed their eventual championship fight at the finale. We break down the team selections, discussing the incredible depth on Team Gabriel with established no-gi stand outs like Andrew Tackett, Keith Krikorian, and Gianni Grippo, against Team Musumeci's squad led by IBJJF World Champion Isaac Doederlein. We talk about the first episode, which saw Andrew Tackett secure a dominant 70-second RNC sub over Aaron Wilson.

    In the recap of WNO 28 we discussed the main event between Mica Galvão and Middleweight Championship Jonnatas Gracie.
    We break down Mica's beautiful and fluid body lock passing game, analyzing how his relentless leg pummelling and use of staples systematically passed through the defensive guard of Jonnata's Gracie multiple times in the match.     We recap all the all the action from the Mundials 2025. Breaking down all the black belt finals matches. We discuss Adam Wardziński winning his second world title to complete the jiu jitsu Grand Slam before retiring on the podium. We talk about his influence on our games and the joys we have had covering him over the years.

    We talk about Mia Funegra making history as the youngest female black belt champ with a dominant 12-0 performance in the 53kg final. We also talk about where both Tainan Dalpra's continued dominance at middleweight, and where he potentially goes from here. Discussing his possible move to No-Gi. We talk about Joao 'Bisnaga' Mendes's underdog win at featherweight from the 22 seed slot and, and another absolute division victory for Gabrieli Pessanha.

    In the preview section of the show we preview the WNO 28. The main evented by Jonnatas Gracie defending his middleweight title against the highly aggressive Mica Galvão. We breakdown of this matchup, contrasting Gracie's tactical pressure and somewhat methodical pace and control against Galvão's explosive submission entries and creative scrambles.

    In the co-main event, we talk about the return of Xande Ribeiro on back to back cards taking on also un-retired Kit Dale in a clash of styles.

    This week on the main Zak recap Ffion Davies vs Adele Fornarino on FPI 11.

    In the news section of the show we talk about why we decided to push the recap of the IBJJF 2025 world championships into next week. Giving us more time to recap the fight pass invitational.

    In the recap section we discussed Ffion Davies defeating Adele Fornarino by split decision. We discussed some of the dynamics of the match across all three rounds and addressed some of our frustrations with the closed scoring used under the unified rules. We discussed potentially how difficult it would be for Adele to win in this rule at given her preference for playing from the bottom essentially in our eyes, making it a requirement to submit to win given her style. We talked about a potential rematch happening as the women's super fight at the 2026 ADCC world championships and how much we would love to see the rematch take place under those rules.

    In Ana Carolina Vieira win over Raquel Canuto by unanimous decision we discussed some of the takedowns and guillotine attempts that were able to win in Carolina the match.

    We broke down William Tackett submission over Achilles Rocha using an unorthodox takedown sequence into a rear naked choke finish.

    In Mason Fowler vs Christiano Troisi we talked about the submission a near Iminari choke from the omaplata after a quick rubber guard transition from Fowler. We also briefly discussed that Mason may be the best rubber guard player in the sport right now.

    We discussed the draw that took place between Francisco Lo and Enrico Beltran.

    We broke down the attacking sequences in Alex Enriquez vs Shye Lilly that saw Alex take the match with a great armbar transition in round 2.

    We discussed Keven Carrasco Teepee Choke submission win in round 1 over Sebastian Oyervidez

    Plus discussed João Assonitis counter heel hook win over Daniel Maira after countering a toe hold attempt.

    In the recap section of the show we broke down the main card of Fury Pro Grappling 13. we discussed the four woman tournament. Some of the scoring and rules of the event and both of the title fights on the card.

    In the preview of FPI 11 we discussed the rematch between Ffion and Adele, we discussed the dynamics of their first matchup three years ago, and how the guard play of Adele was going to potentially play into the top pressure and knee cut passing game of Ffion. We also discussed the overhook Armbar series that Adele uses as a potential pathway to victory.

    In the preview of the 2025 IBJJF Worlds we reviewed all of the brackets and discussed all of the front runners in each division for the entire tournament. Plus, discussed some of our more anticipated, match ups and divisions.

    featuring Trinity Pun out of New Wave, now Kingsway, Taylor Hishaw out of B-Team Amanda Bruse out of Atos, and Cindy Ung out of Balance. We discussed some of the recent matches between some of the women in the bracket and how we hoped the bracketing will work out.

    Also on the card we previewed Chris Weidman vs. Pat Downey discussing the wrestling credentials of both athletes and how we think stylistically the match will play out. We also previewed Daishi Goto vs. Devhonte Johnson.

    In the recap of One Tye Vs Dante 3 we discussed the phenomenal guard work from Dante paired against some of the best passing in the world from Tye. We discussed all of the sequences of the match and the way that Tye continue to deal with grips and initiate passing attempts off of the guard of Dante. Lead to a decision in favor of Tye.

    In the recap of the 2025 IBJJF Brasileiro the third major grand slam event of the year we recapped all of the finishes for the adult black belts, and discussed some of the more interesting sequences in select finals matches of the tournament. We talked about some of the huge upsets, as well as some of the matches that merited a rewatch. We also talked about some of the recurring themes in some of the matches at the event with low scoring, singular cycle guards being played against a singular passing style.
