  • Summary

  • Watch the talk: https://youtu.be/dU0NIU5d4BI

In this conversation, Rupert Sheldrake and David Bentley Hart delve into the concept of fields in physics, discussing their nature as non-material formative causes and their historical context in scientific thought. They explore the idea that fields, such as gravitational and electromagnetic, act as top-down causes, aligning with Aristotle's formal and final causes, and argue for a re-evaluation of these ancient concepts in modern science.

Finally! Coherent discussions for the eternally inquisitive.

A recent mention of Mr Sheldrake’s work by Graham Hancock in an interview by Gaia’s Regina Meredith brought me here to discover this podcast!
Much more than an intellectual exercise for the erudite, these discussions illuminate the guiding philosophy behind theories offered about how the universe manifests the particular reality we experience on earth.
Sheldrake cuts through the intimidating cloak of mathematics and physics to simplify the complex scientific fences constructed around natural laws by which we are subject to, but do not fully understand.
I’ll be back for more!
