  • Every April 1st One or More Members of My Family Dies.
    Sep 30 2024
A narration of the short story - 'I know it's long past the first of April, but every year on April First, one or more members of our family die.'

    Chapter 1:
April fools has passed this year, and after two years, I’m finally ready to talk about what has been going on the 1st of April.

It was the first of April two years ago, so of course, I didn’t believe my brother when he walked into my room with a sullen face and said, ”Our parents. Fuck. They, uh, they were in a car accident. Dad’s already dead, and they said mom doesn’t have a good chance either. Grab your things. We need to go to the hospital now.”

I let out a nervous laugh, thinking he was just trying to get me with an especially messed up April fool’s joke. He was always the one that joked around a lot.

When I realized the serious look on his face remained the same, my laughter was soon replaced with the realization that he was completely serious.

  • My Dog Dug Up a Body that Looks Exactly Like Mine in the Garden.
    Sep 26 2024
A narration of the short story - 'My dog was digging in the back garden, and she found a body that looked exactly like mine.'

    Chapter 1:
“It’s raining, Jessie! Come inside!” I called.

It wasn’t the first time I’d caught my Irish setter eagerly scooping up grass and dirt with her paws, but it was certainly the first time she’d succeeded in uncovering something. Something horrifying.

    “What the fuck?” I screamed.

I locked eyes with Jessie’s discovery in the ditch — a woman’s corpse.

  • How a Game of Tag Turned My Husband Into a Monster!
    Sep 23 2024
A narration of the short story - 'My husband and I have been playing a game of Tag for 5 years, but the rules have turned him into something terrifying'.

    Chapter 1:
"It all started after we saw the comedy film called Tag in 2018. For those of you who are unaware, it's based on a real story about a group of friends who played an endless version of the children’s game. I think I enjoyed the film at the time, but I can’t remember now. After years of this gradually-worsening hell, I shudder every time I remember the concept that inspired my husband, Elliot.

    “Let’s do it,” He said.

“Sorry?” I replied, smirking. “Right here?”

“No,” He laughed, rolling his eyes. “Not that. Tag. A never-ending game of Tag.”
