  • Summary

  • The Bronx, 1993. Ex-cop and bail bondsman Tommy “Fishpriest” Barth is laying low. Two years ago, he took down the Jamaican Shower Posse, New York’s deadliest crime syndicate, and lost his family (wife Ana, daughter Bella) and badge in the process. Now, all signs point to JSP’s return – and Tommy knows that their leader, Jamaar Maywether, is coming for him.

Excellent

Disregard the negative review. This is well worth the listen! Great story. Great performances. Great production. And I love a trip.to the past!

I LOVE full cast and sound effects BUT these are louder than the narration.

Sound effects are way too loud and jarring. I love sound effects and full cast.. I also love Ethan Hawke so I was really excited for this.. I couldn’t get very far so it’s possible that it gets better but if this is how it is at the start I doubt the editing and sound will change. The voices sound to far away and a little like an echo. The background tv on is distracting with the voices already hard to hear and differentiate. I don’t know what they’re saying and don’t want to concentrate this hard. Disappointed.

Deleted

Deleted after a few minutes. So many sound effects and background noise couldn’t hear or understand the plot.

Weak. And a Waste of Time.

I like audiobooks that follow the format that this did, so that allowed me to give it 2 stars. I listened to the entire story and it could have been good, but it never really developed. Also, I found it difficult to differentiate some of the characters because their voices sounded alike. The "flashback" sound that was used was stupid...it really sounded cheesy and out of place. The worse part for me was the language ..now I love some great swearing but there's an art to it. It should be used at the right times by the right characters. There was swearing overkill by everyone in this.
