Ep 7 - Kelly Herrick on Liminal

  • Summary

  • This in-person talk is from October 2021 and is given by Kelly Herrick.

Kelly Herrick is a joyful landscape artist exploring our connection to nature and ecology through art, she is also a writer currently editing a women's book project, retreat leader and creative strategist at Katapult - an international-themed attractions design agency.

Kelly expertly opens our eyes to the liminal world that we all inhabit from Sunday afternoons to corridors in hotels and that moment before your fully awake in the morning.

She talks about how we tend to rush across liminal thresholds as fast as we possibly can to avoid the fear and uncertainty that liminality can create. She suggests, however, that to foster creativity and tap into your intuitive self you should sit in those liminal spaces more, meander and explore the potential they offer.
