In this new series we cut through the politics to examine five critical issues through the lens of Torah wisdom. In our third lesson, “Abortion,” we explore the topic of abortion from a uniquely Jewish perspective. When does life begin? Is a fetus considered to be “alive”? Under what circumstances should abortion be permitted? When might it be deemed obligatory? Through studying classic Talmudic and Halachic texts we will develop a profound framework of understanding the origins of life, and be better equipped to address some of the most difficult questions.
