  • Israel has a message for the Middle East: The gloves are off. The days of strategic restraint and symmetric responses are over. After demolishing Hezbollah leadership in less than a fortnight, the Israelis destroyed Houthi power and shipping infrastructure nearly simultaneously in response to a ballistic missile attack.

    That sent a clear message to Iran, the patron of both terror networks along with Hamas and Islamic Jihad: Israel intends to respond with overwhelming force if attacked, and it will take aim at the infrastructure that Tehran cannot afford to lose. Their oil production provides the mullahs with the income necessary to maintain their brutal grip on the Iranian people, and Israel already demonstrated their ability to hit their nuclear-development sites in a demonstration raid on Isfahan earlier this summer.

    Benjamin Netanyahu made it clear over the last two weeks that he has no intention of playing along with frozen conflicts. The only way to end a war against terrorists and tyrants is to win it—and to convince them not to start wars in the first place.
