Episode 460 of Concert Pipeline featuring Ordinary Elephant, in which I speak to Crystal and Pete Damore about life on the road, settling dow in Louisiana, early musical influences, Crystal writing poems as a kid, Pete’s early love of the Beatles, being in Australia when the pandemic hit, the few states they have left to visit, the impact of the banjo on their music, and how they have progressed from their first album to”Dusty Words and Cardboard Boxes” to their self-titled album they released in May. Episode 459 of Concert Pipeline featuring Circle the Earth, in which we chat with bassist and founder of the band Michael McBay about his path growing up with music, his passion for shotokan karate, being sober for 14 years, former bands Ice Breaker and Talisman, forming Circle The Earth in 2020, playing with Smokey Robinson, the band’s new singer Aviva Scott joining the band this year, and their new single “Numb.” We also review Sylvan Esso’s show with Poolside at Stern Grove and share performances from the show.

Episode 458 of Concert Pipeline featuring Joe Samba, in which we chat with Joe about growing up in a family of musicians, being a huge fan of Sublime and getting to play with them, what he learned from working at a record store as a teenager, his experience playing Warped Tour with his old metal band Spies Like Us as well as driving a bus on the tour, the progression from his last album “Far From Forever” and his upcoming album “Lifeline.” We also feature a review of Foo Fighters’ show at Toyota Amphitheatre in Concord, CA.

Episode 457 of Concert Pipeline, in which we remember Greg Kihn, famous for hit songs “Jeopardy” and “The Breakup Song,” as well as for being a San Francisco icon through 17 years as a morning radio host on KFOX, publishing 6 novels, and his incredible live shows. Greg passed on August 13, losing the battle with Alzheimer’s disease at the age of 75. I had the chance to interivew Greg twice, in 2017 (Episode 139) and 2018 (Episode 186) and both interviews are shared in their entirety here as well as “Madison Avenue” from his August 11, 2017 performance at Thunder Valley in Lincoln, CA. Rest in peace, Greg Kihn and rock on!
