On this mornings program we had a delighful road trip inspiring visit with Gloria Nash, author of Looking Back at the Future: Photographing Vintage Leftovers of New York's World’s Fairs. She shared childhood memories of the 1964 World's Fair, and sparked interest in some urban exploration in New York City as well as San Diego, Dallas, Seattle and St. Louis, the site of other World's Fairs.

We even discovered some interesting Route 66 connections. Did you know that the 1962 World's Fair in Seattle inspired the signature root beer at Mr. D'z Route 66 Diner in Kingman, Arizona?

Sharing America's story. Inspiring road trips by telling people where to go. It's what we do at Jim Hinckley's America, with a bit of help from guests like Gloria Nash.

If you think of neon and tail fins when the conversation turns to Route 66, today's program will be a surpise. Today we visit with Geoff Ladd, Assistant Director, Illinois Route 66 Scenic Byway and discuss the innovative Route 66 Monarch Flyway project that links conservation and building a sense of community with the most famous highway in the world. The Illinois Monarch Project that debuted on November 18th, 2020, is a Route 66 centered 66-mile-wide corridor that stretches from Chicago to St. Louis across the state of Illinois. By planting native wildflowers and restoring monarch butterfly habitat a bit of color is added to the roadside, and a threatened species is brought back from the brink. We are on the road for the annual fall tour. So, we have enlisted the help of a couple guest hosts to share America's story, and to inspire a road trip or two. But their focus seems to be on singing my praises and on telling the story of Jim Hinckley's America.

I appreciate the compliments and am quite humbled. BUt as our guests aren't real, I will have to accept their praise with a grain of salt.

Today's program is a glimpse of the future. Today's program is a deep dive into the exciting and unnerving world of AI. It is a manifestation of tinkering with NotebookLM from Google.
