Cheating: When Love Lies

By: PodcastOne
  • Summary

  • Affairs are prevalent but rarely talked about relationships. The podcast, Cheating: When Love Lies, is a deep dive into the complex emotions surrounding these secret unions.

Creator and host, Jillian Hamilton, delves into this taboo topic and asks the hard questions about affairs: how common are they, who's having them, and why? These questions illicit unexpected answers that reveal both men and women as people actively seeking something - validation, escape, understanding, vengeance, thrill, love, sex, and romance - outside of marriage or committed partnerships. Cheating: When Love Lies resists the condemnation of affairs as uniquely wrong or bad and instead considers their usefulness in learning as much about relationships as we learn about our ourselves.

On the podcast, Jillian Hamilton narrates short fictional stories about cheating based on true life events. The narration is followed by a roundtable discussion with everyday people who share their unique perspectives. Jillian also interviews cheaters and betrayed partners. These interviews are raw and real-and at times maddening or heartbreaking.

Listen now to Cheating: When Love Lies. Are you ready for the truth?

  • Why Committed Partners Cheat On Dating Apps
    Oct 1 2024
Do dating apps drive people to cheat? Do dating apps facilitate cheating? Or do dating apps have nothing to do with cheating at all? My guest Samantha, her boyfriend brazenly cheated on her with a multitude of women, and at times used different dating apps to find these other partners. Samantha has a PhD in public health and wrote her dissertation on dating app use — so I was thrilled to have this conversation with her from a personal and professional perspective. Join Samantha and me to ponder the question: how do dating apps influence cheating —if at all? When you start to question just how close your spouse is to their “best friend” are you paranoid or intuitive? My guest Brent, who is married to his husband Michael ( not his real name) would say the latter. • I Was Blindsided By The Affair, Then My Intuition Kicked In
    Sep 17 2024
About two years ago, a guy friend said to me "I know my best friend and he would never cheat on his wife. He just wouldn't do it." Because of this podcast I'm sworn to secrecy, so I couldn't tell him that his best buddy was a flagrant philanderer who had cheated many times with many different women in both emotional and sexual affairs. As wives, husbands, partners, family members, and best friends, we can't imagine that someone we know would ever have an emotional or physical affair. This is why it is not uncommon that I hear from betrayed partners, "I was blindsided when I found out!" This is what happened to my guest Shea. Shea is her real name because with the support of Shea's husband, they decided together that appearing on Cheating: When Love Lies would be a part of Shea's healing. Beth Miller, relationship coach and owner of Soulifywellness is back to share her relationship expertise. Do you think that your partner would never ever cheat on you? Well, so did Shea. @cheatingwhenlovelies @soulifywellness https://www.facebook.com/groups/infidelityaffairsupportforwomen/?ref=share_group_link (https://www.facebook.com/groups/ infidelityaffairsupportforwomen/?ref=share_group_link)
