  • Chats in the Attic - Emily M
    Oct 20 2023

Emily is currently awaiting patiently for her diagnosis. She talks about what made her think she had ADHD including feeling like she was “just a bit eccentric” her whole life. Emily talks about the rollercoaster of coming to diagnosis and the process of psychologically understanding yourself better. As well as that we talk about the JOY and validation of meeting someone who matches your energy. There is, very importantly, some more animal love in this one- this time snails! This was such a lovely chat to end the series on and Emily ends it with the absolutely most perfect message. (And I’m not just saying that to get you to listen to the end… although it’s totally worth it 😉)

  • Chats in the Attic - Charlotte L
    Oct 19 2023

This episode is an example of when two neurodivergent brains meet and basically just totally unmask. This chat really was a lot of fun, Charlotte is larger than life and had so much to share. We giggle throughout most of it, even the dark bits, but please don’t think we aren’t taking the topics seriously; sometimes you really have just gotta laugh! We discuss everything from coping with life with undiagnosed ADHD to Sam Thompson (of course!). The bits in between include Charlotte reflecting on how she went undiagnosed until adulthood, when she has two neurodivergent siblings who were diagnosed in childhood, and the effects chronic people pleasing can have in your life. I really hope you enjoy this episode as much as we enjoyed recording it. And finally, can someone please tell us whether the saying is, “Get your goat?!”

Just PSA- There are points I could have edited out where I  stumble over my words a lot, but I kept it in, because this is part of my tired, over-stretched ADHD brain and it feels more authentic to me, and I think other people would find it relatable too😊

  • Chats in the Attic- Amy
    Oct 18 2023

I was so excited to chat to Amy, who is joining us all the way from America! This was such a special chat and Amy was so inspiring, really embracing her vulnerability. Hearing the situation in the US was unique and eye opening and we discussed everything from the process of diagnosis to treatment and the overallattitude towards ADHD in the US (from Amy’s perspective!). We also chat about Covid and the impact this had on ADHD diagnoses as well as some of those lesser-known ADHD traits such as picking up on the energy as soon as you walk in the room and the effect this can have on your own mood/ experience. Plus, we have the first Chats in the Attic exclusive with the release of Amy’s book title- very exciting!
You can find Amy at @amy_joynt1 for updates on when her wonderful book will be released- keep your eyes peeled.

C/W- Covid, mentions of suicide, anxiety, alcohol addiction
