    Welcome to Chapters….A podcast where we talk with current and former sportspeople about their athletic career and their transition into life after sport - whether that is starting a business, exploring a career in a new sector or creating a new role within sport.


    Today we're delighted to welcome Jake Henry as a guest.


    Jake is a former rugby professional who played for Rotherham, Plymouth and Hartbury as well as some time playing for Havre in France. Around this time COVID hit and Jake started to explore other options to prepare for life after rugby.


    He found his passion in interior design and now runs his own Interior design company, JWH Designs, where he provides multiple design services for residential & commercial properties as well as bespoke experimental offers.


    Jake is a great example of someone really finding their next career based on their interests and following their passion.

    In this episode of our podcast, we're joined by the remarkable Sam Leeming, a former rugby player turned coach whose journey is nothing short of inspiring.


    Starting his rugby career at Newcastle Falcons, Sam's path led him to Hartbury University and from there representing Hartbury RFC, Bedford Blues, and Jersey Reds in the English Championship.


    But Sam's career took a dramatic turn when, at the age of just 23, he was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Sam bravely battled through six rounds of chemotherapy, ultimately making a

    return to the professional rugby arena.


    However, there was another test in store for Sam as he faced concussion injuries that forced him to step away from competitive play. Yet, from adversity emerged opportunity, leading Sam to embrace a new role as a performance coach at Rennes Rugby Club.


    Specializing in attack strategy, skills development, and kicking techniques, Sam brings a unique creative flair to his coaching approach, blending his passion for rugby with innovative uses of social media and videography to connect with athletes worldwide.


    Beyond the field, Sam serves as a personal mentor and coach, guiding athletes towards personal excellence both on and off the pitch.
