• EP0022 - Taylor Willis - Managing Business and Family. What Does It Take?
    Oct 29 2024

This is one of my favorite episodes so far because it is a topic I am extremely passionate about. Juggling family and business at the same time. One of the hardest things to do is operate your own business, let alone doing that and being a good father and husband.

We talk about these things and more in this episode.

    Thanks for watching.

  • EP0020 - Tyler Klekamp - Finances, Politics, Warfare and How Companies Can Retain Through Benefits
    Oct 8 2024

    Send us a text

We cover a lot of topics in this episode, but the main purpose is to look at the crazy times we are in and find a solution to setting your people up financially when they get to the age of retirement. Not only that but set them up so they are protected currently. We work in a dangerous industry and we all need to have a safety net for our family to lean on if something happens to us.

We go over Tyler's experience in the military, how he got out and found what he is doing now and what he has learned through the years to help people be smart with their money.

    Thanks for listening.

When you think of the trades, you might not start off with imagining being an arborist as part of that category. However, being able to view the landscape of a project, advise on best practices for those later stages of construction prior to them arriving is a huge skill.

We got to sit down with Mark Mann with TreeMann Solutions out of Austin TX. He is a board certified master arborist and has a pretty awesome insight into this industry specialty.

Go give it a listen! There are some amazing opportunities in this field that I never knew about until talking with Mark!

We got to talk with Ryan Birch a marketing and recruiting expert that has a passion for showing off the industry.

With 15 years of experience in the Civil industry within his families excavation business, he later moved over to Buesing Corp in Phoenix AZ where he helped their team bring in quality people and help build the awesome culture they have there.
Being in recruiting there, he knew that it wasn't only about showing off what work they were doing but to also show who they were and why the work was important. What was the purpose of what they did.

We loved talking about this subject because it is the purpose of Eagle Eye too.

    Thanks for coming on Ryan!

  • 014 - Working with a General Contractor During Precon
    Apr 28 2022

    Send us a text

Through my years in this industry I have seen so much confusion about how General Contractors work from the point of view of the contractor. Often times this confusion leads to frustration and can easily turn into a bad relationship with the GC.

In this episode we talk to Ryan Kemp, Director of Preconstruction at Tally Riggins, a local DFW General Contractor who started less than 5 years ago. Ryan is a great friend and also one of the best in preconstruction that I have met in our field. With 15 years experience doing what he does, he knows how important that relationship with their trade partners is.

I have him go through the estimating process from their bid to the project turnover to the build team.
We talk about the ins and outs of it and dive into what I have seen as some of the common themes throughout the years from the contractors perspective.

We talked about a lot of great stuff and hope it helps contractors better prepare and set up their estimating team as they bid new jobs.

    Enjoy!
