  • 08: Morgan Brennan - Creativity and Change in Women's Football
    Jun 22 2023

Hi, I’m happy to share a new episode with you. It’s with Morgan Brennan. We’ve known each other for a number of years now and met through the world of publishing, art, and fashion - both starting magazines at a similar time. Morgan has used her creativity and passion for football to create and carve out an important space in football. Based in London she started the Victoria Park Vixens and has been a strong voice in pushing for change in Women’s football in the UK and beyond. Coming from a photographic background, Morgan uses her visual eye through the football club and adjacent projects. This conversation felt like a long overdue catch-up. One takeaway I would say is, to get around the Women’s World Cup which will be hosted in Australia/New Zealand between Thu, 20 July 2023 – Sun, 20 Aug 2023.

  • 07: Margot Charbonnier - Unveiling a world of movement and design
    May 16 2023

Hey there, welcome to another episode of conversations with people I truly admire and have had the pleasure of working with and becoming friends with over the years.

So, today I want to introduce you to Margot, an incredible talent who creates and designs conceptual sportswear under the label Grand Bassin, Sample-cm and the newly added Petit Bassin all from her atelier in Berlin. I have one of the Petit Bassin bags and absolutely love it.

Here’s a quick vignette I made about it: Raving in the Trails

I’ve worked with Margot through Good Sport Magazine. Through the magazine, we’ve featured each collection and in issue 04 her feature story became the cover. If you have issue 04, you’ll already be familiar with Margot’s process and story. And I recommend anyone who loves sitting with either magazine or now this recorded conversation, to get to know all that is Grand Bassin and Margot’s work.

What fascinates me about Margot is her unique way of thinking and creating. In our conversation, I had the chance to dig deeper into her process and explore her relationship with movement—how it intertwines with her artistry.

Enjoy the listen. And if you feel inclined, take a moment to share with a friend and leave a review or comment.

You can go back to earlier episodes via Apple and Spotify.

And as always, thank you for listening.

  • 06: Nicholas Allbrook - On the beauty of creativity and the physicality of running and performing.
    Apr 19 2023

Welcome to this area of Process Movement, where I chat with people I admire about their creative process and journey as well as their relationship to movement.

Here I speak with Nicholas Allbrook. Most people will be familiar with the band POND in which Nick sings/performs. Others may know of his other musical projects including a recently released single ‘Jackie’ and perhaps his work with Tame Impala.

Nick and I got connected a while back, and as soon as I find out someone has spent their life in music and then interweaved running through it all, I get stoked. It’s something that deeply resonates with me.

Nick is infectiously creative and energising. And he has a bold story to tell about the paths he has taken.

We also speak about running being and becoming your friend.

There’s so much in this chat I loved, and I hope you get something out of it too. Let me know what stuck out to you.

  • 05: Felix AAA - On finding gaps and creative problem solving.
    Mar 29 2023

Welcome to the next season of Process:Movement.

In this episode, I chat with a friend I’ve known and admired the work of for around 12 years now. We met on tour in Europe with our friends Your Demise and LetLive. I was making short tour documentary webisodes and Felix was tour managing and teching.

Felix is a creative director, writer, and photographer (although he doesn’t claim to be) amongst other creative pursuits. He’s carved out a unique path with his approach and style. This led him to work with Donald Glover, Anderson Paak and many other artists and musicians along the way. His work transcends genre, and I believe it comes from his curiosity that stems from my similar upbringing of living in a small village before discovering the wider world.

Check out and follow Felix’s work at the links below.

  • 04. Alice Oehr - An Appetite for Creativity
    Oct 23 2022

In this episode, I speak with Alice Oehr, who is a Melbourne-based Designer & Illustrator.

Alice's style is memorably colourful and reflects her life in Melbourne, her travels to France and Japan and her love of food. All mixed in with patterns, collages and drawings. Alice's work has become part of many different books, installations, homewares and exhibitions. I've known Alice for many years, connecting through Melbournes arts and our love for running. We chat about Alice's experiences and outlook on work and lifestyle and how running interweaves through it all.

I hope you find something from this chat to take away with you.

  • 03. Nai Vasha - On Expressionism
    Oct 23 2022

In this episode I'm calling my friend in Hawaii Nai Vasha,

Vash is an expressionist through and through. An adventurer, ideator, community builder, and much more. She helps build and shape visual languages across brands and communities. There's nothing she won't have a hand at, and finds a knack for most things. And everything she does, she does well!

Vash and I met through running. In the earlier days of the famous event/race called The Speed Project. We got to work together on a magazine called Make Running and have always had these long-winded conversations about art, commerce and movement.

It was great to catch Vash on a warm evening in her current residence of Hawaii.

  • 02. Pim Rinkes - On Decision Making & Access
    Oct 23 2022

In this episode, I speak with Dutch photographer Pim Rinkes who is based in Amsterdam. Where he also spends his time running with the Patta Running Team and co-operates with his agency, OneThingLedToAnother. Pims work has graced the running world with a style that has paved the way for its warmth and connection to athletes and interesting ideas, composition and decisiveness.

Pim is a long-time friend and someone I spend many hours chatting with over our relationship with photography and the visual medium. So it was great to put something down for this episode.

  • 01. Mr Wix - On Fear, Confidence and Curiosity
    Oct 23 2022

In this episode, I speak with the talented Mr Wix. Who is a Dutch-Surinamese DJ, creative guru, connector and now restaurant owner from Amsterdam.

Wix made a name for himself through the mid-nineties as a DJ spinning mostly hip-hop and R&B, but also house, breakbeat and dub sounds. Those familiar with Amsterdam nightlife will know the famous club Paradiso, where he became a resident DJ.

Through his curious and social nature, Wix has gone on to work with the likes of De School, Kamaal Williams, Pigalle, Patta and a whole range of artists and musicians.

We met in Amsterdam and connected over a love of food, music, and style. Our conversation dips into all of these things, we talk about fear and confidence, setbacks and what it means to connect people to help them to do great things.

Wix has a wonderful and infectious outlook on life, and I loved learning from him. And I hope you find something in this conversation to take away with you.
