"Now, wait just a second buster! I'm never robbed a store or a bank!" That may be true, but do you consider yourself to fulfill the demands of the eighth commandment just because you've never explicitly stolen something? Or are you an everyday thief?

The seventh word from God finds itself challenging many of our ingrained assumptions. To call out the disorder adultery causes, we must be clear about the order of marriage God designed. Furthermore, we realize in a world beholden to destroying the beauty of marriage, our marriages are mutiny.

The sixth commandments apparent simplicity might be the same reason people who've never killed someone in their lives are guilty of breaking this command all the same. Today, we walk together through a paradigm shifting understanding: When you think about it, everyone murders.

The fifth commandment undeniably carries baggage for those who grew up in difficult homes. How can we be expected to honor our parents when are parents are so far from perfectly honorable? Do we abide by this truth just because our parents said so?

The fourth commandment, God's fourth word, calls us to remember the sabbath and keep it holy. But what does that mean for a culture so far from a pre-modern world? Is this command necessary in a Western world that values the weekend? Yes! This command calls Christians of every age to rebellious rejuvenation.

The second commandment is God's second revelation and word from himself to his children. Were we to follow it, our hearts would not be so torn between things that ultimately won't sustain us. Even in 2023 & beyond, it's critical to remind ourselves to make no idols.
