Stop trying so hard…
The material is good stuff and seemingly well researched. I want so badly to listen to it but the speaker is just SO cringey during the story it totally wrecks it. It’s like he’s trying way too hard to sound all mysterious or something but the tone comes off as desperate and more SNL laughable vs suspenseful. These are stories where you don’t need to add the excess drama. Especially with poor acting. It’s annoying and I can’t finish an entire story no matter how hard I try to block it out. Take it down like 100 on the drama voicing and there is a lot of potential with this show. I think some of the people that are talked about would be so bothered to hear their stories told with this presentation. For example/ I stopped at Robin Williams when the reader describes his “manic” personality within the setting of someone with a “syringe.” Just the echo-y deep Dracula tone of voice seems condescending to the people he’s talking about and the speaker seems very unfamiliar to any kind of party scene. Like a nerdy overdramatic guy trying to be in the know.
