  • Giants Rumors & Malik Nabers Injury Update: Is Daniel Jones' Future in Doubt?
    Oct 1 2024

In this episode of “2 Giants Goofballs: New York Giants News & Updates,” Drew and Rob dig into the latest updates and rumors surrounding the New York Giants. From injury concerns to trade speculation, this live episode covers everything fans need to know about their team right now.

The conversation starts with an in-depth look at rookie WR Malik Nabers, who remains in concussion protocol following last week’s game. Although Nabers hasn’t been officially cleared yet, the extra time from the Thursday night game seems to be working in his favor. Darius Slayton gave fans a positive update on Nabers, stating, “He’s in good spirits,” but also highlighted the unpredictable nature of concussions. Drew and Rob explore what this means for the Giants' upcoming game against the Seahawks and how crucial Nabers has been to the offense.

Malik Nabers has also been the subject of controversy off the field. After a couple of crucial drops in big moments this season, some have questioned his ability to come through in clutch situations. One post on X (formerly Twitter) claimed Nabers “lacks the clutch gene,” sparking heated responses from NFL players, including Giants tackle Jermaine Eluemunor, who called Nabers “already a Top 5 WR.” Jets WR Garrett Wilson also jumped to Nabers’ defense, telling critics to “shut up” and stop overanalyzing. Drew and Rob weigh in on how much these moments really impact a young player’s development and whether the criticism is fair or premature.

Beyond his performance on the field, Nabers was fined $28,128 by the NFL for a gun-like celebration after both of his touchdowns against the Browns in Week 3. This hefty fine raises some eyebrows, especially after Falcons WR Drake London received a much smaller fine for a similar celebration just a week earlier.

Trade rumors are swirling around the Giants’ wide receiver room, particularly with the Kansas City Chiefs in desperate need of help following injuries to Rashee Rice and Marquise Brown. Some insiders believe the Chiefs could target Darius Slayton, who is in the final year of his contract. There’s also speculation that the Giants could move on from Jalin Hyatt, who has seen limited playing time this season. What could these potential moves mean for the Giants' offensive strategy and their chances to secure a top quarterback in the upcoming draft?

Speaking of quarterbacks, the Giants recently worked out veteran QB C.J. Beathard, raising eyebrows across the fanbase. With the team struggling and Jones' future in doubt, could we see the Giants turn to Drew Lock or Tommy DeVito? The possibility of Jones being shut down for the season is looming larger as the losses continue to pile up.

In a nod to Giants history, the episode also touches on the Hall of Fame candidacy of Ottis Anderson

  • Did the Refs and Daniel Jones Cost the Giants vs. Cowboys? - Bonus Episode
    Sep 30 2024

In this special bonus episode of "2 Giants Goofballs: New York Giants News & Updates," Drew shares his postgame thoughts following the Giants' Thursday Night Football showdown against the Dallas Cowboys. With Hurricane Helene knocking out his internet, Drew missed the live show but is now back to offer his take on the controversial game and how it all unfolded.

First up, Drew tackles the hot topic on every Giants fan's mind: Daniel Jones' performance. Despite putting up seemingly solid numbers—29 completions for 281 yards—Drew and Rob aren't convinced. Jones' struggles with deep passes continue to haunt the Giants’ offense, completing only two of 13 attempts beyond 20 yards. The lack of deep-ball success has forced the offense into a more conservative, short-passing game, heavily dependent on rookie standout Malik Nabers and the quickness of Wandale Robinson. With the deep-threat receivers like Darius Slayton and Jalin Hyatt barely seeing the ball, Drew questions whether Jones is still the right quarterback to lead the team.

While Jones remains a focus of the discussion, Drew shifts his attention to the Giants' woeful run game against a Cowboys defense that had shown vulnerabilities against the run. Instead of capitalizing on this weakness, the Giants put up a measly 26 rushing yards on 24 carries. Lead back Devin Singletary was ineffective, and Eric Gray’s lackluster performance adds to the growing concern over the Giants' ground game. Drew even suggests giving Turbo Miller, currently on the practice squad, a chance to shake things up, as the current running back group is simply not getting it done.

The conversation doesn’t stop there. Drew takes aim at the officiating in the game, with a few key plays standing out as game-changers. A highly questionable face mask penalty on Daniel Bellinger killed what could have been a promising drive, forcing the Giants to settle for a field goal. Drew believes that call, along with another blown no-call on a Cowboys touchdown drive, cost the Giants an eight-point swing in a game they lost by just five. Drew is careful to note that the Giants made their own mistakes—missed deep throws, blown coverages, and a lackluster running game—but he’s adamant that the officiating was a major factor in the outcome. He sarcastically suggests that maybe the refs need better vision care included in their next collective bargaining agreement after missing such obvious calls.

Drew concludes with a broader discussion about the Giants' future. He believes head coach Brian Daboll is still the right guy to lead the team, but only if the quarterback situation is addressed. Without a deep passing game and a reliable run attack, Daboll’s play-calling will continue to be limited, keeping the Giants from reaching their potential. Drew even float

  • Giants vs Cowboys: Live Reactions & In-Game Breakdown! Thursday Night Football
    Sep 27 2024

    Send us a text

On the defensive side for the Giants, Burns and Thibs have been relentless in their pursuit of Cowboys quarterback Dak. Both guys have been excitedly calling out the pressure they’ve been applying, breaking down how the two edge rushers are forcing Dak to make quick decisions. Prescott’s connection with wide receiver CeeDee Lamb has kept the Cowboys in the game, though, and the hosts analyze the back-and-forth battle between Lamb and a banged-up Giants secondary missing key pieces like A Jackson and Dru Phillips.

Dexter Lawrence has been a monster in the middle, stuffing the run and limiting Ezekiel Elliott’s effectiveness. Every time Elliott tries to find space, Drew and Rob react live, praising Lawrence’s dominance in controlling the line of scrimmage. They’ve also kept a close eye on linebacker Ty Summers, who was elevated to the active roster just before the game. His role in the Giants' defense tonight has been critical, and the hosts discuss how he’s been flying around the field, helping contain Elliott and Prescott.

The Giants' offensive line, led by Andrew Thomas, is fighting tooth and nail to give Daniel Jones enough time to make plays. The pressure from DeMarcus Lawrence has been intense, and Rob is constantly providing live feedback on how the offensive line is holding up—or not—against Dallas’ relentless pass rush. When Thomas pancakes a defender or loses a critical block, you’ll hear the real-time reaction and analysis.

As the game progresses, Drew and Rob don’t hold back their emotions. Big plays, turnovers, touchdowns, and penalties all get live reactions, with the hosts giving their raw and unfiltered thoughts on how the Giants are performing. Is Daniel Jones rising to the occasion in this crucial NFC East matchup? Can Malik Nabers and Devin Singletary make enough plays to push the Giants over the top? And can the Giants defense, led by Dexter Lawrence and Brian Burns, hold strong against the Cowboys' high-powered offense?

The Cowboys' offense, led by Dak Prescott, is still a force to be reckoned with. When Prescott connects with CeeDee Lamb for a big gain, Drew and Rob are quick to break down what went wrong in the Giants' coverage. Is it the injuries in the secondary catching up to them? When Ezekiel Elliott breaks off a run, Drew discusses how the Giants' defensive line needs to adjust to shut him down.

With every field goal, every sack, and every touchdown, Drew and Rob bring you live reactions, giving Giants fans a real-time, play-by-play breakdown of the action. The stakes couldn’t be higher in this game, with both teams fighting for control in the NFC East. Every play could make the difference between a critical Giants victory or a devastating loss.

As we head into the final quarter, the tension is rising. Drew and R
