Tomte, klein und schmal, ist eher vorsichtig, hat manchmal ein bisschen Angst und mag vor allem keine Unordnung. Er plant seine Streiche gern sorgfältig und sorgt dafür, dass sie so sauber und präzise wie möglich sind – wenn das bei einem Wichtelstreich überhaupt möglich ist!
Snorre ist hingegen das genaue Gegenteil: kräftig und mit einem großen, buschigen Bart versehen, liebt er es, lauthals zu lachen und jedes Abenteuer anzupacken, selbst wenn dabei ein kleines Chaos entsteht. Er meint, dass ein bisschen Durcheinander zur Weihnachtszeit dazugehört und versteht es, Tomte regelmäßig zu überrumpeln.
Zusammen ziehen Tomte und Snorre bei Familie Klein ein , jedoch nicht geplant. Von Anfang an ist klar, dass die beiden Wichtel die Adventszeit nicht nur für die Familie, sondern auch für sich selbst zu einem unvergesslichen Erlebnis machen wollen. In den ersten Tagen läuft noch nicht alles reibungslos: Tomte und Snorre sehen sich eher als Konkurrenten, und jeder versucht, den anderen mit seinem Streich zu übertrumpfen.
Doch schon bald merken sie, dass es viel schöner und lustiger ist, als Team zu arbeiten und die Familie Klein gemeinsam zu überraschen.
