Set in the French countryside on an idyllic summer vacation, a delicious, tender novel about finding every bit of joy in life no matter what's thrown at us

Sick of his lies, cheating ways, and complete lack of interest in fatherhood, Jessica left her boyfriend, Adam, only months after she gave birth to their son - and never looked back. Adam moved to France to follow his dream, unencumbered by a serious relationship and the child he never wanted.

Ten years later, Susan, Jess's mother, lies in a nursing home, battling a debilitating disease. Susan forces Jess to recognize what she's always refused to acknowledge: that William needs his father in his life.

So, Jess and 10-year-old William set off to spend the summer at Château de Roussignol, deep in the rich, sunlit hills of the Dordogne, where Adam runs a beautiful hotel. There, Jess has a mission: to make Adam fall in love with his own son.

By turns heartbreaking and hopeful, You Me Everything is a novel about one woman's fierce determination to grab hold of the family she has, and a romantic story about finding love even under the most unexpected circumstances.

Reseñas de la Crítica

“Lush, romantic, and sweep-you-off-your-feet beautiful. Just looking at it makes you want to take a trip, doesn't it?” (Bustle)

“Equal parts wry comedy and touching family drama, it’s ultimately a heartbreaker that’ll stay with you long after you’re done.” (Marie Claire)

“Hoping her ex will bond with their son, a 10-year-old he’s rarely seen, Jess arranges a vacation a deux at the ex’s hotel in the French countryside. If you’re not hooked already, you will be.” (People)

I absolutely adored this story. It was so easy to connect with. I didn’t enjoy the reader changing word throughout the book. I’d prefer she just read it is as written.

Wonderful story!

While it took me a bit to get sucked in by this book, I ended up really enjoying it. However, the character development was lacking for me. I had a hard time connecting with Jess, the main character, because I couldn’t picture what she looked like, what she did for a living, etc. Jess and Adam’s rekindled love story also sort of came out of nowhere at the end. The VERY short chapters broke up the flow of the book at times, but it was a decent listen.

A great story, but something was missing

Yes, unfortunately, this one "jumped the shark". The story turned into unrealistic, sappy romance. The scenery in France was gorgeously discribed, though, and the narrator was excellent. But OMG, I almost couldn't finish....it was just too sappy for me.

ugh.

The protagonist is a drama queen/ helicopter parent who is incapable of any resemblance of rational thought. And the men in her life perscibe to a strict 'bros before hos' mentality.

I stuck it out until chapter 74, but I have no interest in finishing this train wreck of a story.

people can't be this bad at communicating
