About this listen

Extraordinary uncovered work by the 16 million copy best-selling author of Man’s Search For Meaning.

Eleven months after his liberation from Auschwitz, Viktor E. Frankl held a series of public lectures in Vienna. The psychologist, who was to become world famous, explained his central thoughts on meaning, resilience and the importance of embracing life even in the face of great adversity.

Published for the very first time, Frankl’s words resonate as strongly today as they did in 1946. He offers an insightful exploration of the maxim ‘live as if you were living for the second time’ and unfolds his basic conviction that every crisis also includes an opportunity. Despite the unspeakable horrors in the camp, Frankl learnt from his fellow inmates that it is always possible to say 'yes to life' - a profound and timeless lesson for us all.

An unexpected pleasure

How incredible it is to hear a new Viktor Frankl book which has so much import for a Covid19 world. It was written in 1946, but it feels as if it was written in 2020 and it it so important for the world right now.

Narration not for me!

Note - the preview is not the voice of the narrator, or if it is, it is not as affected as the rest of the narration!

I will be returning this book after I write this review. I have only tried to listen for one hour but I find the voice modulation, constantly rising and sinking, impossible to follow. Given what Viktor Frankl had to live through to come to his conclusions I feel warrants a delivery with more gravitas. The voice is too affected for me although it's possible that I may be in the minority. You can always click on the narrator and listen to his delivery style of other books to see if it is to your taste. :-D

I will however buy the book.
