Publisher's summary

For the first time in one audio collection, all 16 Yes Minister radio episodes plus six further TV episodes, 14 Yes Prime Minister episodes and two bonus sketches.

Between 1980 and 1988 on BBC television and radio, the exploits of the Rt Hon Jim Hacker MP (Paul Eddington) - later Prime Minister - kept the British nation enthralled. Helped - and hampered - by his diligent Permanent Secretary Sir Humphrey Appleby (Nigel Hawthorne) and his Principle Private Secretary Bernard Woolley (Derek Fowlds), Hacker and his department became synonymous with government bureaucracy and administrative double dealing. Presented here, for the first time in one collection, are the complete radio series of Yes Minister and the complete BBC television soundtracks of Yes Prime Minister. Also included are six TV soundtracks of Yes Minister and two special bonus mini-episodes: "The PM’s Plan", recorded in 1984 with Margaret Thatcher as herself, and a special segment created for "The Funny Side of Christmas" in 1982.

Laughted our loud!

This is a great series and one I will listen to again and again. It's farcical banter and beaurocratic nonsense has made me laugh out loud on my commute many any times. Such good fun!

What an Intro to British Politics!

I listened to this series because I couldn't find it to watch online - it had been recommended to me, as an outsider, to understand British politics. But what an introduction!

I'm sure the series was wonderful but audio-only has limitations - often the most important things are said too quietly to hear.

Still so much fun.

Any additional comments?

I would probably say if you are reading this your dithering because you have seen the shows so many times do you really want to spend the dollars or credit on an audio collection of the shows. Well I say do it.

As an English born person I saw these shows over and over again, and every time they made me laugh, and still do. Yet the humour is brilliant, the actors are perfect and so believing as real.

How can you not be lifted by these shows. They may be lost to many who do not know how English politics works, not sure it actually does as told in these shows yet seriously, you will believe.

These stories never die.

I find myself smiling and lifted by them and for that mood lift they are worth the purchase or credit.

You can never get tired of listening to the performances and stories

I didn’t dislike any episode but do have my favorites. Captures the humor of British politics beautifully, even so many years on. Don’t hesitate to purchase this audio collection. You won’t regret it .

Marvellous show

Yes Minister and Yes Prime Minister should be listed as university politics and public administration textbook forever.
Sir Humphrey is always my favour.

One of the best British comedies ever made.

What's so amazing about Yes Minister is that Yes Prime Minister somehow manages to be even better.

I can listen to it again and again. Great to have it all in one place.

This is one of the funniest recordings I have listened to on audible. Still feels relevant today. Classic.
