• Canasatego, an Iroquois chief whose words taught Benjamin Franklin the basic principles behind the separation of powers

The popular movement that swept Republicans into power in 2010 and 2016 was led by Americans who rediscovered the majesty of the Constitution and knew the stories of Hamilton, Madison, and Washington. But we should also know the names of the contrarians who argued against them and who have been written out of history. Excellent.Book

This was an excellent book. Like his first book, this book should be required reading for all high school students. Those who have criticized it lack the understanding of the principles of the founders and how we have gone off course. Mike Lee is a national treasure.

So much unknown information!

There is a lot of information in this book, I'm going to get the actual book so I can read it and absorb it better!

Almost every chapter I was saying oh wow, while trying to keep notes on everything to explain to others.

Definitely kept my interest and I'll be listening over and over to pick up what I missed.

Why do we not know about these great men and women

For those of us who are drawn to such writers as Mike Lee we know the answer. It should be a call to make quick remedy of that situation for the sake of our children and the future of our nation and the leaving of a greater heritage and legacy when our labors are forever ended. If we do this perhaps we ourselves will not be forgotten.

History you never learned in School

Senator Mike Lee singles out some hidden gems from American History and tells their story. Incredibly interesting to learn how much the people he focuses on contributed to be framing of our Nation, and more than a little sad that History has by and large forgotten them and their contributions. If you are a fan of History or even if you are just an American I think you will find this a truly interesting read. I did! And I hope Senator Lee continues it on into a series.
