But John finds that the adage "things just to sheep" is true when the river floods, coyotes attack, and one dog's feet get cut.

Haunted me for years

I first heard this audiobook on cassette at a local library. Checked it out several times. Got the audible version and was transported back. So haunting, mysterious, funny, down-to-earth. I've listened to it more than 8 times, and it makes me cry every time.
