Acerca de esta escucha

I left Vermont on the most painful day of my life and swore I’d never go back. Meadows Park–the shuttered amusement park that’s been in my family for generations–is the home of all my finest and worst memories. They all star Peter Landry–the best friend I ever had, and the only guy I’ve ever loved.

But then my eccentric grandfather buried two million dollars on the property and couldn’t remember where.

So I’m back, and asking Peter for help. He’s an Ivy League lawyer now. Still gorgeous, and able to gut me with a single smile. And I’m still a disappointment, living in the city and washing dishes to get by. As soon as we strike off down the first sunlit path, the Meadows Park magic begins to fill my heart with yearning, lust, and most dangerous of all—dreams.

I’m secretly relieved each time the day ends, leaving us empty-handed. I know it’s wrong—without that money, we could lose the park.

But if I find the treasure, I lose the guy....

I really liked the story and found it moving—I teared up a couple of times and that’s why I love romances. Narration could have been better, however.

Good

the story line is what I liked the most about this audio book. I have listened to it twice now.

Love love love 💕 I’ll buy everyone. Keep writing this series. The narrators made the characters distinct and emotional.

Adore this series!

omg ... the voices in this book were absolutely horrible. I don't know who Voiced Aaron when he was talking with Peter at V&V but 🤮🤮.

It was also annoying to hear how much Peter and Riley's voices changed from chapter to chapter.

It was a good storyline but with narrators like this, many people won't be able to finish the whole book. Unless they don't cherish their ears that is.

Great Story Terrible Narration

…but I persevered. Once I got used to the cringe-worthy narration of the voice of Aaron’s character (MC and one of my favorites from Book 2 of this series)…and don’t get me started on Rudy’s presentation of Riley’s voice (just…NO) the story moved along okay. Thank goodness for Stephen Dexter, who didn’t have nearly enough voice time. Note…I had no problem with the narration for Peter directly. Rudy just shouldn’t read for secondary MALE characters.

All in all…I slogged through this one because I’m totally committed to all the over-arcing characters in Sarina’s True North (from all 18+?🙏🏽 books in the Vino & Veritas series, as well as this In Vino Veritas series…and the rest!). They are my friends and I love them all.

You will too…enjoy! 💖

Narration ALMOST Spoiled This One…

I was super excited about this book. It was an original storyline, and I couldn't wait.
But the narrators threw me out of the story every single time I turned it on. I'm not sure if it was having two narrators, which I've now determined after two audiobooks that each had two narrators, I'm not a huge fan of. Or if the issue was the one narrator. I don't know which one, but one of them, whenever he would do Peter's voice, it was just...no other way to say it, grating on me. And having different voices for the same character was challenging for my brain to process. I struggled to finish the book not because I didn't like the story, I liked it a lot, and the way they found the treasure...that was kinda genius after all the work they put in. And I loved crabby old Grandpa. And the HEA.
I hate to say anything negative about narrators, because they work hard to help bring a story to life, but this audiobook was not for me. However, I think I'm going to re-grab the book from KU and read it and hopefully I will have an entirely different outlook.

I wanted to love this way more
