About this listen

When I ran out on Max sixteen years ago, I never expected to be captured by my wolf pack.
Or pregnant with Max’s daughter.

When Max and I got into an argument all those years ago
Over deciding the best way to raise our little boy,
I needed to blow off steam and take a walk.
Little did I know my father would have me captured,
Demoted to the lowest member of our pack,
And living a life of servitude.
As Alpha of the Greystones,
He never accepted me being mated to a Glenwood,
Knowing a witch bloodline runs through their veins.
So when I discover I’m pregnant,
I’ll do whatever it takes to keep my baby girl safe.
But when her magical abilities emerge sixteen years later,
I beg her to keep them locked away for her safety—
Until they prove to be our key to freedom.
Max is in for the shock of his life.
He’d been told I was killed long ago,
But here I am on his doorstep at forty,
With the teenage daughter he never knew he had.

Steamy shifter love scenes and an HEA inside! No cheating or cliffhanger in this standalone romance. Listeners 18+.

Second chance mates

Max has spent years thinking Sara was dead. He has raised Hunter to the best of his ability living day to day and trying to move on. He never expected to open his door and see Sara standing there. Or his daughter Ava that he never knew about.

Sara never thought she and Ava would find a way to escape. Ava’s powers exceeded her ability to believe in miracles. Once they escape the only thing, they can think of is getting to Max and finding away to be safe.

The past isn’t done with them not her pack or the issues they haven’t left behind. Can they survive the coming war? Can they find understanding and a way back to each other for that HEA future.

Reunited

Max and Sarah were young parents raising a son. Suddenly Sarah disappears, later we learn shat happened to her. It turns out she was pregnant at the time she disappeared. Sarah and the child were kept captive all these years. Now Sarah and daughter get free, and run back to Max. The story deals with the difficulties of such a long term love, but forced separation. I really like that it also addresses the difficulties of teens coming to accept a unexpected new parent. The story was interesting and well written. The narration was excellent. Entertaining!

This is the third book in the Shifter Nation: Marked Over Forty Series, a shifter romance. I like this series. I liked Sarah and Max's second chance romance. The story is well written, suspenseful, and intriguing, filled with danger, and twists and turns. I liked Ava and Hunter. The world building is captivating. Elle Sonali did a great job bringing these characters and this story to life. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to listening to Rejected Midlife Wolf, the next book in the series. Favorite pack

Max is part of one of my favorite packs. I am so happy he gets his second chance. Meeting Sarah, my heart breaks for them. This is an interesting storyline. I really like them together as well as separately. Ava is a sweetheart and Hunter is going to be a heartbreaker. I can't wait to see what the author has in store for them. I am especially excited to read Dawn's story. The writing is easy and flows smoothly. This story is very well done. The audio version is well done with a nicely toned voice and inflections. I listened after having read this story and enjoyed both versions greatly.

4 stars

Story 4 stars. Narrator 3 stars. The narrator can really only do one voice for the women and the man voice is off and on (not a man’s voice all the time). I really enjoyed the storyline and the emphasis on family. If second chance, fated mates, love, family, magic and wolves are your thing, then this is a must read, I would forgo the audiobook.

Loved

This audio book was done well. The narrator does a wonderful job with the narration. She, the narrator, gave each character the personality that I think the author was trying to convey when she wrote the book.
Sarah was kept away from her mate by her father. His cruelty had ho bounds when he put a silver collar on her and his granddaughter. He also made them live in the basement and do many chores. He told her mate she was dead.
Max pined for his lost mate. He raised his son on his own. When she shows up on his doorstep with a daughter he never knew he had, his did everything he could to keep them safe and his family together.

Max and Sara

16 years. She was trapped for 16 years and Max thought she was dead. Edward, her father Kept her trapped in the clubhouse basement with her daughter for 16 years. This is an intense reading. Max who raise their son in Hunter, grew without a mom. There is action. Magic. Arguments. Discovery of self. And learning your heritage well getting to know your family that’s all wound up in this story. It kept you guessing and yelling at the characters as things go down and you want them to fight for it right.

Pretty decent

I have mixed feelings about this one. It was about a couple who had been separated for years- he had been told she was dead- and them coming back together. The story was pretty decent, but I don’t care for books where the heroine is held captive. That’s a me problem though, not a book problem, and the story was otherwise a 4/5, so that’s what I’ll give it. For my Safety Squad: this book is Safe, meaning no cheating or S.A.
As far as the narration goes, I’d give it a 4/5. The narrator was clear and easy enough to understand. She wasn’t very good at the male voices, though. I think either dual or duet narration would have worked better, or a female narrator who was better at male voices.
