4.5 Stars - Great Boxed Set

This was a great boxed set filled with the books four and five in the series. Each book was well written. The narrator did a fantastic job of bringing the stories to life and made this a fun read. I hope that the author and narrator do future collaborations together.

Better The Second Time Around

I've read or listened to other books in this series. The first book of this two-book bundle is one I had listened to before as a singleton. I appreciated it far more this second time after listening to the first three books all in a row before diving again into this one. I love the quirky world the author has created in Belle’s Cove. In these two books, not only are there two separate mysteries to solve, but the heroine comes to better understand her magical powers and the leanings of her heart. The author has also created a fun cast of secondary characters, including Boxy (who runs the auto shop with her), her dad, her dad’s lady love, and most especially the heroine’s familiar, a somewhat pretentious cat named Professor Salvatore Studmuffin the Third. He becomes the focus of the second story of this bundle when he is catnapped! Throughout the series, there has been a slow-burn love triangle; the heroine has been attracted to two men—or one man and one vampire. In these books, she comes to understand which one is for her. The narrator uses a variety of Southern voices. When I first listened to this series some months ago, I found this southern-friedness a bit overdone, perhaps making the books more melodramatic than they were. Since I listened to all these stories one after the other this time around, I found I grew to enjoy and appreciate the southern-friedness of these books. If you enjoy well-written paranormal cozy mystery series with the requisite quirky and delightful cast of characters, you will probably enjoy this one.

Great Boxed Set!

This second boxed set includes books 4 and 5 in the Witchy Business Mysteries Series. This is a great addition to the series. Victoria, Professor Studmuffin Salvitore III (Victoria's familiar), and the detective, are fantastic characters. The storyline is original, entertaining, and captivating. I liked the humor in the series. If you like paranormal cozy mystery, this series is for you! Louise Cooksey did a great job bringing the stories to life.
