Hey! This was a really fun book with romance and mysterious creatures. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

I have read this series before and I loved it. So I was excited to see it on audible however I don't like the girl doing the guys voices. She makes them sound like old men. Just no! She is great doing the girls voice however hated her trying to sound like a guy. I had almost stopped listening a couple of times because of it but I wanted to listen to the story.

I really enjoyed this story and world. Jaxson is a complete jerk at first but I really do come to like him but there is parts of the prophecy that is holding him back. O can't wait to find out more about it. Wyatt and Atti and hard not to like immediately. Can't wait to read the next book. Some of Natasha's narrating was hard for me to listen to. I did enjoy listening to Kevin T. Collins.

Enjoyed this world

This was a great start to an amazing series but it took me a while to get into the narration. The female narrator sounded like a man and her accents of the guys was horrible. I hated it so much. I stuck it out because the story was great. Will continue the story tho. You get use to the bad narration after a while.

Great Story.

This story and series has lots of possibilities for world building, plot, and characters. It will be interesting to see where Bailey can take it.
Bailey has a lot of creative talent that I believe will prove out in the future. I do recommend a good editor or writing group to help get there. The details have to add up; or be consistent with the author’s world building, for me to enjoy a story. I won’t list details which will end up sounding like bashing - not my intention. But I will say one thing - scent.
Also, call me quirky, but I like the spelling of Jaxson for female and Jackson for male; just like Frances is female and Francis is male; I don’t do neuter names. I like being a woman and won’t apologize for it.
Soudek has a bit of a mature voice for a 20yr old female college student, and very American sounding for a supposedly English-Welsh background and setting.
Collins’ male voice fits a mid 20ish guy.

Lots of possibilities...

why do they have American performers? Collins does a good performance, but soudek, I had a hard time getting around her narrative.

If the story is set in Wales....

From the beginning, I had trouble with the narrators having a very weird way of talking, a bit judgmental. It got worst with time. Even if the feeling I here for the dialogues, the rest is very little convincing. I’m not surprised that many other listeners had to stop.
Story-wise, to me, the main character is close to what we call Mary Sue. She’s pretty, long that everybody likes her, smart, not so naive, with lots of powers (that we discover little by little later), subject of a prophecy and the biggest of all, with a harem of hot guys loving her more than anything. The plus? she won’t have to choose.
It was fun at moments and definitely was good enough for me to check the second book. But to me, it is not a book quality and rather a OCxAU fanfiction that went to be published. That feeling is just because of the main character.
The world building is however interesting and could deserve a bit more back story.

Can’t say I recommend unless you know that you won’t really enjoy for its quality.

A new Mary Sue?

The narration initially made it so I was so distracted/annoyed that I got nothing from the story but decided to give it a second chance and just read it. I really enjoyed it. I listened again and was able to ignore the irritation I experienced the first time. I 've actually read the rest of the books finished and have thoroughly enjoyed all.
