About this listen

Delphi Gifford has nearly given up on finding someone she could love as much as her dead husband, Fallon, who had died while they were still in college. Certainly local photographer Jeremy Litster wasn't at the top of her list, egomaniac that he is - even if he did drive the hottest racing motorbike she'd ever touched.

Jeremy knew George DiCarlo had hand-picked him to marry Delphi, but hadn't counted on her not being in the loop. After working together for six months, though, he seriously regrets his misstep and begins a careful campaign to win her over. When someone tries to take the two of them out, he has to figure out what they did or saw that put them both in danger.

Loved this pairing

Delphi and Jeremy have all that playful banter I was looking for in the last book. I loved their whole dynamic, once he stopped fighting his attraction for her.

Delphi is a Wild Child under those button downed suits. I loved seeing her let loose. I did not expect these elements of her personality and or her back story. She really is a complex gal! I adore the match with Jeremy and all they shared. They have some of the best scenes in the series here in this book . Motorcycle shopping was a riot!

There is a side danger, story. That was more predictable but no less enjoyable. I saw it coming a mile away, but it worked to keep the story moving along and be more than a simple romance.

While this is a romance and character's have sex, it is strictly closed door. No details for the naughty readers. I don't mind the cleaner romances, so no problem here. The fact that they do sleep together knocks it out of the Christian Romances. It is a pretty clean read though, plenty of kisses but no erotic details or thoughts.

It is a mixed narrative, so you get both sides of the story from the leads. It makes for a well rounded story. It is great getting to see Delphi struggle and grow, it is rather like the growing pains Cami went through with the sisters.

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Valerie Gilbert, who is definite favorite. I always enjoy her reads and the energy she puts into the read. She has a nice brisk pace, I never have to speed things up when listening. Her voices are varied and consistent, it is always a pleasure to see what she is going to do with a book. The women are great and the men are just deep enough without going into a false tone. She is a perfect for the series!

One thing that bothered me about the side plot, what happened to the gold and the mine? If it was said, I missed it. Who has rights to that bounty?

One more sister left and one yummy fella to go!

Great story

Book five and I have been looking forward to Delphi Gifford and Jeremy story. This series really needs to be read/listened to in order as there is a story arc that is across the series as the relationship between all the sisters evolves.

Sparks have flown between Delphi and Jeremy from their first meeting and I knew that this book would be entertaining. Jeremy resented the fact that her father had targeted him to be her husband unbeknownst to Delphi. He didn’t try to hide his feelings and so he antagonised Delphi.

Months later he regrets his snarky behaviour and hopes to improve their relationship. When danger presents and they are both in the line of fire, Jeremy knows that he must figure out who is after them before one or even both are hurt.

Delphi has had a hard life, her husband dying while she was in college, then her father, finding out she had half sisters she knew nothing about and a mother who wasn’t loving but through it all she has remained positive and caring and I really liked her.

The chemistry between Delphi and Jeremy was strong and this was a slow build to love story which was heartwarming.

I am enjoying the narration of this series by Valerie Gilbert. Her voice is easy to listen to and I enjoy the different voices she brings to the various characters.

Strong, smart and beautiful

The previous four books were entertaining; however, in the last couple of books, once we are introduced to sisters we find out that they are more or fewer wieners once get into difficult situations. It was a nice break to meet a strong and independent Delphi, the 5th sister. In her short life, she had to experience loss of her beloved husband and then her father, all her life she felt unloved by her mother, and yet Delphi did not give up on her life. All the difficulties just made her stronger and wonderful person that she is. I really admire her.

The narrator was great as always, she gave all the characters their own voices and was able to display all the emotions. It was very entertaining to listen to this book.

Delphis story

Would you listen to Wild Hearts again? Why?

Yes so far this is my favorite book in the series.

What other book might you compare Wild Hearts to and why?

Naturally I would compare it to any other book in the series, there's not really any other books other than Black dagger that take a certain character and give them each their own book

What about Valerie Gilbert’s performance did you like?

Valerie did a fantastic job telling the story, you grow quite used to her voice. I'm really glad that the author chose the same narrator for the entire series to make it more cohesive

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes

Any additional comments?

this series does need to be read in order for better understanding. this series follows a group of sisters did find out about each other after the loss of their father. in this book we follow the Delphi on her journey, I never would have guessed that she was an outdoorsy bike riding woman. I quite enjoyed her character that she was not the weepy I need a man have to lean on a man heroine that her sisters were. I think the ending was adorable, can't wait to read the last and final book. I listen to this book on audible the narrator did an amazing job bringing the story to life. I am glad that she read the entire series, you get quite used to her voice and now picture them with each character.

Hearts full love story

This is book 5 in the series , I’ve loved all the other ones before . This is a great story . The author knows how to draw you in and keep you guessing in each step of the way , till the end . This story is about a sister that loves to live life to the fullest.
Heroine is Delphi and Jeremy .
This story has lots of kisses but it’s a clean romance that shows how love should be . It’s a slow burn romance that slowly builds up . The motorcycle scene was great .

Valerie Gilbert brought this story to life , her voice is strong, clear . She was great

Wild Hearts by Heather Tullis

What did you love best about Wild Hearts?

The story. Delphi's strong, independent side. How she was true to herself.

What other book might you compare Wild Hearts to and why?

The first four DiCarlo Brides books come to mind, of course. All of these girls are thrown in together by their mutual father. I've enjoyed reading their similar stories from each unique perspective.

What aspect of Valerie Gilbert’s performance would you have changed?

It was fine for the most part, but there were a few times I felt her inflection was off. Other times the reading seemed a bit flat when there should have been more emphasis or emotion.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No. Not really.

Any additional comments?

I really like this series and was looking forward to Delphi's story. Heather Tullis creates well developed characters, an interesting atmosphere at a somewhat remote resort hotel in Colorado, and a great premise for laughter, angst, and falling in love. Delphi and Jeremy had a lot of chemistry, but took their budding relationship slow. Love pretty much took them both by surprise in this charming and well written story. 4 stars.
