a good addition to my library

This genre is new to me. The publisher's summary looks interesting so I took a chance on it. I'm glad that the author didn't disappoint me in the end. It was quite a good story. I enjoyed the narrator's voice too. She's done a great job!

This story is also an audiobook. The narrator did a great job with the story. She brought the story to life for me. The story was about a life of a slave and her friend. I received a free audio code to do an honest review.

Very Enjoyable Short Story

This book was an interesting story of the life of a Woman Slave in America. It touches on many of the indignities and inustices of the Time Period. I enjoyed it. The Narrator did a wonderful job and I love the way she speaks. Kept me listening intently. This book was provided free of charge in exchange for a fair review... Thank You!

History

Short but impactful story that seems to portray a part of history. Honest, but disheartening. The narrator did a good job. I voluntarily listened to this and am giving an honest review.

The narrator made the book even more better

At the beginning of the story, Yael catches my attention. There's something in her voice that makes the book more interesting. I don't have any problem with the story I just want a good narrator coz a good story will become a bad one if it will be narrated horribly. So I'm happy that Yael didn't disappoint me. I will definitely follow her books from now on.

Emotional

Trigger Warnings at the end.

This is my first book by Eric Reese and first narration by Yael Eylat-Tanaka. This short managed to pack in quite a bit of world building and evoke a myriad of emotions. It was a difficult, but good listen.

Eylat-Tanaka has a pleasant voice. While I wish there were more differentiating of character’s voices, it was still an enjoyable narration.

I’d look forward to more work by both the author an narrator.

*** Trigger Warning ***
This short story deals with slavery and pre-Civil War life in the South. Characters are beaten and raped. While not overly graphic, still very descriptive.
*** End ***

I received a free copy of this audiobook and am voluntarily leaving a review.

A brief look into slavery

Miro and Osmanu take us through the lives of slaves. How horrible masters could be. How hard it was to love and be together. Masters controlled them in every way. I could not imagine having to give myself to a master because he demanded it. How hard that had to have been. This is such a realistic story that gives us a brief insight to the horrible conditions slaves had to endure.

Yael Eylat-Tanaka narrates this story beautifully. The pain and anguish felt by Mira and Osmanu can be easily felt by the reader through Yael Eylat-Tanaka's narrations. The emotions and struggles were brought to life. This story was enhanced by the narration.
