About this listen

"Who am I, really?" is a question many adoptees ask when they realize they have another family of genetic relation. Damon L. Davis shares his journey through life as an adoptee to becoming an adoptive parent himself. He explores his desire to find his birth family as sparked by the flood of emotions that accompanied the birth of his son, Seth - the first blood relative he had ever known.

In his story, you'll follow his introspection when considering a search for his birth family, while coping with the heartbreak of his adoptive mother's mental illness.

Within months of taking his post in the Obama Administration in 2009, Damon found his birth mother working only two blocks away. Years later, his real birth father's identity was revealed unexpectedly on AncestryDNA.

You'll be amazed by the coincidences that brought Damon face-to-face with his birth mother in a tearful yet joyous reunion. And your heart will be warmed by the acceptance of his birth father, who didn't even know he existed.

I was sorry the book ended!

I loved the flow of the book and the way he read his story. I recommend this book for everyone whether or not you were adopted. I wasn’t adopted but I learned so much about the different adoptees journeys.
Thank you Damon. I met you through my cousins Mike and Donna.

Damon is a master storyteller

This is definitely one of the best books I have listened to this year. It’s an incredible story and Damon is an incredible narrator. I’m so glad he has told his life story as it’s an inspiration to all of us. I highly encourage everyone to listen to this. From the moment I started it, I could not put it down.

A question for us all

Damon Davis asks a question worthy of being asked of us all - and then answers it, powerfully. His story of adoption and family connections is beautifully rendered. And his voice complements every word!

Occasional reader

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to Damon’s wonderful story. He is definitely an interesting storyteller. I love how he unraveled the truth to get to his full story. I have enjoyed listening to his podcasts and hearing him on other venues but loved hearing his life open up in this Audible version. Thanks

Great Story on Adoption and reunion

I highly recommend this book. I met Damon at a conference and afterwards, was eager to read his book. I’m glad I did. You should read it too. You will be inspired.
