Publisher's summary

Chase is caught in the midst of a cartel war.

When Chase first met Esteban Velasquez, the cartel hitman tried to kill him.

Now, the man who is second in command of the largest drug cartel in Florida is missing, and a rival drug lord is claiming he's killing his men.

Chase quickly turns down a request by the drug lord, Julio Moreno. However, the DEA and the rival cartel come after Chase, thinking he's working at Moreno's bequest.

Before he can get clear, he needs to find Velasquez before a war breaks out in South Florida.

another great book in the series

As i said in previous reviews the author carries on a wonderful Florida mystery tradition of the white knight, in slightly battered armor working for individual justice. It's a place based series where the setting is a additional character.. I am 72 and still remember my dad turning me on to the Travis Mcgee books when I was in high school.almost sixty years ago. As I listened to the story, I smiled, and thought my father would have enjoyed this. The Author also uses some of John D Macdonald style by making his stories a ongoing sequence of the main characters life. The other thing that John D Macdonald did was add plenty of historic reference of current events in his stories. The author of this book does the same thing,so far. I enjoyed every book so far. I would encourage young fans of this series to read John D Macdonald, Travis Magee books.as well.
