About this listen

Sweet with Heat: Seaside Summers features a group of fun, flirty, and emotional friends who gather each summer at their Cape Cod cottages. They're sassy, flawed, and so easy to relate to, you'll be begging to enter their circle of friends!

Whispers at Seaside by Addison Cole is the sweet edition of The New York Times best-selling author Melissa Foster's steamy romance novel, Seaside Whispers. The story conveys all of the passion you expect between two people in love, without any explicit scenes or harsh language.

Having a mad crush on her boss’s son, Matt Lacroux - an intriguing mix of proper gentleman and flirtatious bad boy - is probably not the smartest idea for single mother Mira Savage. Especially when the company and her job, is already on shaky ground. But as a Princeton professor, Matt’s life is hours away from Mira’s home on Cape Cod, keeping him safely in the fantasy-only zone. And as a single mother to six-year-old Hagen, with a floundering company to save, fantasies are all she has time for.

With hopes of becoming dean off the table, and too many months of longing for a woman who lived too far away to pursue, Matt’s publishing contract couldn’t have come at a better time. He heads home to Cape Cod on a brief sabbatical, intent on starting his book and finally getting his arms around sweet, beautiful Mira.

A surprise encounter leads to midnight confessions. The more time Matt and Mira spend together, the deeper their relationship grows, and the love and attention Matt showers on Hagen is more than she has ever dreamed of. But Matt’s sabbatical is only temporary, and Mira’s not saving his father’s company, so she can leave it behind. Will their whispers of love be enough for one of them to change their life forever?

Great Book!

Matt Lacroux, a professor at Princeton and Mira Savage, a single mother who works for Matt’s dad at his hardware store met a year earlier and had become friends. They hung out together when he was in town with her son Hagen and texted occasionally when he was in Princeton. Matt did want more with Mira but was too far away to make it work. Who knew a broken shower head and a Friday night of eating amazing desserts, a ghost tour, dancing and watching the sunrise would finally bring these two together. I really enjoyed watching Matt and Mira and how he was always making sure both Mira and her son Hagen were included in what plans were made and making sure he made time for both of them. Matt is definitely my kind of guy, a gentleman but a bad boy as well. As always we get to check in with our Seaside friends and see what everyone is up to. The way this ended with everyone and Theresa’s ‘prank’, priceless! I listened to this as an audiobook which was narrated by Andi Arndt and Sebastian York. I really enjoy listening to different narrators and these two were seamless in their narration. I listened to this when I was out and about and totally got lost in the story. Their voices just seemed to flow effortlessly. These two did a beyond great job with their story telling on this book for Addison Cole.

You find more to fall in love with . . .

Whispers at Seaside was a dual POV with a great duo narration (Ardnt and York) that makes you want to step in and get more out of it all. This way you have more than just the surface of things. You can see the heart of it all and the deep emotional effect that go with both Mira and Matt. There was so much love, compassion, passion, emotion, and more.

You have found a sweet romance that filled with tender moments and an undeniable passion without the explicit nature. No matter the context this was on sexy, hot professor and a single, sassy mother. I have to give kudos and more to Melissa Foster. She gives a beautiful written story with each new offering. I have over the course of this last year fallen in love with her characters from the complete Love in Bloom multi-series series. Each new couple have the own individual struggles, needs, desires, hopes and dreams. This one was no exception.

I fell head over heels in love with Mira and Matt. Mira stole my heart because of her sense of self and her soft pride and respect for who she was and what she wanted. Matt, Mira and Hagen have a place with me. It was their interaction with each other that gave the setting a bit more. Matt and Mira both were dealing with a lot of things and the gradual growing relationship gave a bit of stability to their friendship. Having both sides of their perspectives shared made the story that much more enjoyable. We were able to get down to the heart of things.

Matt and Mira were wonderful together!

I really liked this romance. This is the tenth book in the Sweet with Heat: Seaside Summers series but it works perfectly fine as a stand-alone. I have read just a few books in the series and had no trouble keeping up with this one. Addison Cole is the pen name that Melissa Foster uses for the sweeter versions of her books. Whispers at Seaside is the sweeter version of Seaside Whispers. Before trying an Addison Cole book, I had worried that it might feel overly tame and a little too PG for my tastes but there is still plenty of heat to be had in these stories even without detailed sex scenes.

This book is about Matt and Mira and I have to say that I really liked both of these characters right away. Matt is on sabbatical from his job as a professor at Princeton and wants to spend some of his time in Seaside with the bookkeeper that works for his father, Mira. Mira is a single mother to a bright little boy named Hegan. I loved how all three of these characters just seemed to fit together from the very start. Matt and Mira had excellent chemistry while Hegan and Matt bonded over several projects that Hegan proudly called “guy stuff”.

There really weren’t too many obstacles keeping these two apart. Matt’s time in Seaside is temporary but I felt like that was something that could be worked out from the start. I had a great time watching these three come together as a unit and I liked the fact that Mira’s son played such an important role in the story. Matt and Mira do get quite a few moments of time just to be together as adults and I thought that their connection felt very real.

Andi Arndt and Sebastian York are one of my favorite narrator pairs. I think that their voices really compliment each other well in this kind of audiobook and I was excited to see that they performed this book together. I thought that both narrators did a great job with all of the character voices and brought a lot of emotion and some heat to the story. I think that their talent really added to my overall enjoyment of the story.

I would recommend this book to others. I thought it was a really well-done romance with wonderful characters. I had such a good time watching these three make everything work and become a single unit. I plan to read more from Addison Cole very soon!

I received a copy of this audiobook from the author/publicist.

I Loved It!

I so loved this book. Matt is a sexy professor and writer with the muscles and glasses to show it. He is also so sweet, caring, and protective. Mira is the smart, pretty, hard working single mother, that works in Matt's father's hardware store. Then, there is Hagen, Mira's most adorable, and smart little boy, who is now one of the guys. This is the most wonderful story of the three of them coming together. A family? Then, there are the Seaside Girls that always makes these books so fun to read. This book is so sweet, still with a little heat, and laughter. I liked this book so much, that after reading it, I bought the audiobook, and experienced it again, this time through the voices of Andi Arndt and Sebastian York, two outstanding narrators. I very highly recommend this book, whether you read it or listen to it.

The connection these two have is amazing!

Matt and Mira together are undeniable. Even just Matt and Hagan alone calls question to anyone denying the connections! The connection here is huge. While, yes, the fact that Mira is the employee of Matt's dad, that connection was not intentional! The connection these two have is amazing! I enjoyed this story and always look forward to Addison's stories!

I enjoyed getting to listen to this book after having read the print version when it was released last year!

Can a geeky professor love a single mom & her son?

Matt LaCroux is a Princeton professor on sabbatical from his job to write a book. Mira Savage is a single mom of Hagen and bookkeeper for Matt’s dad’s hardware store. Matt & Mira met at his brother’s wedding last year and sparks flew but because of the distance they live apart, Mira puts a damper on the romance. Now that Matt is back for 3 months, he wants to try and change Mira’s mind. He is determined to romance Mira like she desires. Matt is almost as enamored with Mira’s son, Hagen as he is with Mira. Hagen is very academic so Matt see’s a lot of himself in Hagen.

When Mira decides she wants to create a Co-op to try and save the hardware store, the Seaside women come together to support Mira’s dream with their different talents. I love that not only are the previous characters part of each of book but they are a strong group of women who are always there for each other.

The chemistry between Matt & Mira is off the charts but I really liked the chemistry between Matt & Hagen. Matt acknowledges that Hagen needs more male influence in his life so he invites him to build a raft with the help of Matt’s brother & dad. Matt shows that there are good men out there that can love not only a single mother but her son too.

I listened to this book on audiobook. The narrators, Andi Arndt and Sebastian York did an awesome job bringing the story to life. Their voice inflections were amazing. I had no problem differentiating each character even though there were so many different people to voice.

This series is fantastic and this book did not let me down. I can't wait for the next one.

Loved Whispers at Seaside Audiobook

Just when you think it can't get any better Addison Cole’s book excels. I fell in love with Matt Lacroux immediately. He is a dream come true: smart, sexy and sensitive. Mira is a single mom who works in Matt's dad's hardware store. Mira’s son Hagen is so much like Matt. He is super smart and needs to be challenged. The relationship that develops throughout is a pleasure to read. Mira’s son Hagen plays an important role that bonds Matt’s and Mira’s hearts. Follow them along in this beautiful story. The narration by Andi Arndt & Sebastian York is spot on and truly contributes to the listening experience. I loved the alternating voices. Ten stars!

Enjoyed it

Mira lives in the seaside with her inquisitive young son and works for Matts father's hardware store. Matt lives in Jersey as a professor and is back at seaside for a sabbatical while he gets come writing done. But if he has to be honest with himself its to also see if there is anything between him and the lovely Mira. As things form it become clear very soon his sabbatical will end and decisions between their relationship have to be made.

This is a reread for me if you can call it that, I actually got a chance to listen to this book as an audio book. I feel like it really enhances the reading experience and I found it to be more enjoyable. Sometime I find myself skimming over books from time to time and not notice and I was able to focus more on the little details because it was being read to me this time around. I appreciate that there was not one but two narrators to this book and think that Andi Arndt and Sebastian York did a great job. I loved getting a voice behind the characters and it make it all the more interesting to listen to. If you find you self quite busy or just want to relax your eyes for a bit from reading this is a great way to go.

Naturally I loved this book I've been following along with this series and it was pretty great getting to know these characters. Even though I loved seeing that relationship between Matt and Mira, it was sweeter seeing Hagan and Matt working together. It was cute how he didn't treat Hagan like a child but like he would to as an adult. I loved how Hagan always had a question for everything and everyone was so patient to make sure not to give quick answers but explain things in detail to him because it was what the child needed. I also loved that he didn't fade in the background like many others books I've read where the children seem to disappear. I thought it was interesting getting to know more about Matt and his hero complex he seemed to have. As always this author knows how to make interesting and unique love stories with just the right amount of steam ( without getting too much into details). If you love a good contemporary romance I'd suggest you check this book out. If you read this book trust me you will be hooked till the very end. Overall a great story I really enjoyed it!
