Great book, exciting and good characters. Nice quick pace without sacrificing character development. Can’t wait to keep going with next book.

fantastic, fast paced & action packed!

WOW!! This is one of those political thrillers that kept you from going to bed because you want to know 'what's next?'. Professor Lizzie James was unjustly discharged from her job as an FBI agent a year ago, right after she lost her boyfriend, fellow FBI Agent, in a sting gone bad. Lizzie is slowly getting her life back on track...even adopting a small dog that had been tossed in the river. She is excited to share this new piece of news with her father, a retired FBI agent/trainer, turned bar owner in Quantico, VA, when she learns that he died after a fall at the bar. Her father was her only family, so when Lizzie discovers that his death was not an accident, she decides to find answers. She soon learns that her father had been involved in uncovering a criminal organization that includes powerful ppl. When the newly sworn in POTUS secretly recruits Lizzie to investigate and dismantle this group, she is more than ready...except, this activity can never lead back to the president. Lizzie's team includes a computer hacker and a former AF Pararescueman and what they unearth will scare you...and have you biting your nails. Bad guys, political intrigue, more bad guys...traitors! Will Lizzie and her team stop this group before it's too late? There is some romance thrown in...the chemistry between Dalton and Lizzie is off the charts. The antics between two old friends of her father will have you in stitches. This story is well thought out and will keep you guessing until the end. This new-to-me narrator also did a phenomenal job in keeping the story engaging. My most favorite character though...Dave the rescued fur ball. :-). Now on to the next book in the series.

Loved the book. Can't wait to read the next installment in the series. Full of twists and turns.

On to the Next

I am glad that I read previous reviews before starting this series. The first book was pretty good but you will definitely need to read on if you want to figure out " who done it". I like all the characters so far. The pace is good enough. I have not figured out myself yet so I will be reading on. There have not been any real " to stupid to live " moments and the story line is still in the believable range. I recommend the book but be prepared to buy the entire series

Edge of seat suspense

I’m a huge fan of Kathleen Brooks but only read her Bluegrass series, loved the start of this series and definitely need to find out what happens next.

I was okay with Therese and how she varied her tone and projection for the male PIV vs the female. Great job ❣️

Government traitors

This book was exciting and a bit scary. Just imagine the far reaching influence of large terrorist groups turning our government employees into traitors.

I love books about tough women

Lizzie is a no-nonsense, tough, ex-FBI agent on a mission to get revenge and save the world. I love reading about military operations, and to have some romance thrown in makes it more exciting. Not a deep book, but fun.

Excellent story

Gripping story with strong characters. I couldn't stop listening. The narrator is one of my favorites. I highly recommend this book.
