About this listen

The shot to the head didn’t kill Nashville homicide lieutenant Taylor Jackson.

But it will crack her psyche and take her to the very edge.In her showdown with the murderous Pretender, a bullet taken at close range severed the connection between Taylor’s thoughts and speech. Effectively mute, there’s no telling if her voice will ever come back. Trapped in silence, she is surrounded by ghosts - of the past, of friendships and trusts lost... of a lost faith in herself and her motives that night.

When Memphis Highsmythe offers Taylor his home in the Scottish Highlands to recuperate, her fiancé can’t refuse her excitement, no matter his distrust of the man. At first, Memphis’s drafty and singularly romantic castle seems the perfect place for healing. But shortly the house itself surrounds her like a menacing presence. As Taylor’s sense of isolation and vulnerability grows, so, too, does her grip on reality.

PTSD. Pills. Ghosts. Grudges.

Someone or something is coming after Taylor. But is she being haunted by the dead...or hunted by the living?

Leave Memphis and get back to Nashville ASAP! Do not pass Ho and do not collect $200!!

Being from Nashville, I've loved this series. The attention to detail and accuracy of locations, landmarks and the smallest details of Middle Tennessee. But this book took a sharp left and a real departure of the other books in this series. Most of the story took place at Memphis' castle and about possible ghosts haunting Taylor. The story was less developed than others and seemed rather "phoned in". The whole chase between Taylor and Memphis in the series is ridiculous, doesn't seem authentic and is by far the weakest storyline throughout the series. So to spend this entire book about them was very frustrating!! Several times I considered just stopping and skipping to the next book in the series but worried I'd miss something important for future books! Now that I finished it...I know I would have been fine to do so. The twists were rather obvious from way too early in the book that I really struggled to connect or enjoy this book! And if I never hear the annoying voice of Memphis again, It would be a blessing. Was like nails on a chalkboard!

Good Listen

The narration was a bit slow, but overall, I liked the book. I think the storyline was a bit out there, but so many stories are these days.

JT Ellison can tell a heck of a story!

Where All the Dead Lie is a wonderful dark suspense thriller. It is Book 7 in the Taylor Jackson series. Jackson is a Nashville detective who is having problems recovering from a shooting injury. Most of the action in this novel takes place in a castle in Scotland. There are two interesting twists in the novel the first of which seems obvious by the midpoint of the novel but the other one is unlikely to be guessed. Joyce Bean's narration is outstanding.

Convoluted

The story was convoluted and unbelievable. Glad to be able to be done with the Memphis character. Don't like him

J.T. Ellison is awesome

This author can write a story that blows our socks off! What is hard for most comes so easy for her. It shows in her work. This book is another example. A story that grabs your attention and doesn't let go....at all. Love her and her books. Keep them coming please! 😀

I could have skipped this one

Disappointing. I love Taylor Jackson, but this was just bad romance for 80% of the book. The story line felt like an unnecessary detour in the overall TJ story.
I enjoy the narrator's Tennessee accents, Taylor's team and most of the men, but her British is awful to the point of distraction. I'm hoping this was an experiment and am excited to see what happens next.
