I Can’t Make it Make Sense

I am enjoying this story for the most part. I just don’t understand why Cora is getting so upset by pictures of a doll. It seems like if her daughter was being mutilated… they’d send pictures of the daughter…. Idk seems like a plot hole or something because it’s too obvious to be a twist.

Lots of twists and turns

I liked how the story took the reader back in time, the forward to the present. It gave the story more depth. It was one of the best books and performances I have found in quite a while.

Not her best…

This one definitely isn’t the author’s best. I usually love her books, but this one was a letdown.

Suspense

I enjoyed it. It was predictable. But I still liked the ride. The ending was unrealistic. But it was like putting a cherry on top. The author needed to wrap up some holes in the story.

Mom’s ability to stay focused.

I liked it all. Good narrator and a good writer. Glad I ran across this book ok and can’t wait to read a few more from the writer.

Entertaining

It was a little predictable but still a good read. I enjoyed it and read another of one of Rea Frey’s books

poor acting

I liked nothing about this story. it's totally ridiculous, not believable, it's not worth my time to leave a review.

I have a lot of questions...

... like did a high school creative writing student write this? was there an editor? why are things repeated over and over? why was this story not cut down by like 3/4? why would she name her daughter LuLu when one of the bad guys was named Lou? Jakayla and then also Kayla? why was there no character development? HOW could Joe possibly trick her to that extent? who is Lulu's father? I've never given up on a book, so I forced myself to listen to the way through and it just got worse and I just got more annoyed. definite MISS on this one 😞

terrible storyline

I struggled to finish listening to it. was hoping it would pick up towards the end but I was not thrilled.

Predictable Plot Twists

I listened to this as a recommendation from whatever AI generated software suggested based on the fact I read and enjoy books by Freida McFadden. While the narrator did a great job, the writing was subpar at best and the plot twists were eye-rollingly predictable. I pegged the perpetrator from the gate and also predicted (early on) the truth revealed at the very end. Maybe I've just read too many mysteries and psychological thrillers but I won't be a returning reader for this author, unfortunately.
