About this listen

Is Christianity obsolete? Can an intelligent, educated person really believe the Bible? Or do the atheists have it right? In his new book, best-selling author Dinesh D'Souza ( What's So Great about America) investigates both Christianity and atheism and their influences on culture to show why there is, indeed, something great about Christianity.

Challenging the assumptions of both believers and doubters, D'Souza demonstrates: how Christianity created the framework for modern science and is compatible with the theory of evolution; how Christianity explains consciousness and free will, which atheists have to deny; and why, against all expectations, Christianity is the fastest-growing religion in the world, while secularism and atheism are on the decline. He argues that, ultimately, you can't have Western civilization without the Christianity that gave it birth.

Jesus!

Great book! Many arguments made against Christianity but all refuted by Scripture.

A strong argument focused towards unbelievers.

A book mainly focused on the intellectual argument for the validity of Christianity. many facts are used along with the great thinkers of our time and historical figures of the past. From Pontius Pilot to further back in history to Moses and the profits, all the way up to the present day scholars, thinkers. Nietzsche, Darwin, Marx, Lenin, Confucius, Christ, Mohammed, Hitler, Napoleon, John, John the Baptist, and others are referenced.

Great book. Superior reasoning

Easy to understand. Great logic and examples. I’m impressed with Dinesh as a person. It’s a great pleasure to discover such people as Dinesh. He’s up there with top Christian leaders like Rave Zackarias,

Dinesh is unstoppable

I thought this would be fairly familiar ground, trodden paths...as they say, "nothing new under the sun." Yet, Dinesh took me places and opened my eyes up...my beliefs are not merely ancient...they hold up pretty well in this so called modern era.

Fascinating in-depth analysis

Mr. D’Souza respectfully challenges the doubts and decrees of numerous atheists, among other things. Very interesting, and well-written and narrated overview of Christianity and Jesus Christ.

meticulously detailed

This reading provides a thorough and in depth analysis of historic and contemporary issues confronting the modern practice of Christianity. Complex philosophical, doctrinal and cultural ideals are presented in a fairly understandable manner. This reading is an excellent primer and I highly recommend it to both Christians and non believers.

Outstanding work

I am encouraged to have finally found a remarkable book that is properly researched into many aspects of Christian history that few people, even Christians realize. The argument that religion causes the majority of wars and that Christianity is adverse to science are completely debunked.
